Bucket Ball is a game a friend and I invented in the summer of 1998. It started as a lack of of things to do. We could not drive, we were only 14 and we did not know anyone else who could besides every kid's arch-enemy, their parents. One day my friend Jim and I were playing with one of those mini-basketballs. We were playing with it in the house like every kids likes to do, when I realized that this would be a great ball to play basketball with. So we looked around for something to use as a hoop and my friend thought of a laundry detergent bucket in the laundry room of his house. We walked to his house and found the bucket right where he saw it last. The mini-basketball fit perfectly, too bad the the bucket was half full with detergent. We dumped what was left into a quart sized ziplock bag spilling most on the floor. Then we cut off the bottom of the bucket with a hacksaw and removed the metal handle the only way a 14 year old boy knows how, melting it with a soldering iron. Just as we were done destroying the bucket I thought about where we could hang the new hoop. I decided to hang it on my deck using zip-ties. We made holes in the bucket what else but the soldering iron. |

Games and Rules: |
|
|
|
There are many games to be played with your bucket ball, from classic bakstball games like HORSE, 2 Bounce, 2 on 2 (or any variation that there of), to bucket ball exclusive games like 5-4-3-2-1, Certifications, and Freeball.
Frist I will explaine scoring and the point system. |

As you can see there are five diffrent point locations indicated in red and the footage is indicated in blue. With more point locations you would think scores would be pretty high. Well there not and this is why. Since there is no backboard you must "swish" the ball to make it. That is you must not hit anything else but the hoop to make the shot.
5-4-3-2-1 is a game where you take one shot from each point location from 5points to 1 point, the first one to 10 wins. If the person who goes first makes it to 10 before the others, the others get one chance to tie or beat the person who went first. So in other words everyone goes the same number of times so the game is fair.
