Mardi Gras 2003
Mom came to visit us in Houston on Thursday, March ?. The next morning we were off to New Orleans for the weekend, to enjoy Mardi Gras. We arrived in New Orleans just after supper and settled into our hotel. We then headed out to explore Bourbon Street.
We spent Saturday watching the parades and walking the streets. We took a cable car down St. Charles Street to explore a little more of New Orleans. We ate at a pub/cafe and then walked back towards Bourbon, since the cable cars were no longer running due to the parades. Saturday night mom and I went on a haunted walking tour of the Quarter. It was a lot of fun!!! It was great to hear all the stories and tales about the old buildings and learn a little about the history. Sunday morning we visited the French Market, Jackson Square and the ? Market. Then headed back on the road, to make our way home to Houston. |
