So we're both officially together in Redlands, California, home of the 115 degree summers and not much else. Lana is now a few weeks into her residency, and I'm taking a few weeks off to settle in and take care of the apartment. Plus, I'm just a bum...
The weather is hot, hot, hot. It makes it difficult to accomplish anything when all you feel like doing is lie around and try to stay cool. But please do stop on by; we'd love to have friends and family over. We're only 20 minutes away from outlet shopping at Cabazon, or if you're driving over to Las Vegas, take a break and swing on by (we're only 3 hours away from Vegas)!

We picked up the wedding dress!
We stopped by Saks Fifth Avenue to pick up Lana's wedding dress! Don't worry, it was sealed up tightly in its cover so I didn't see what it looks like!

We picked out the tuxedos for the guys!
We stopped by Selix to check out the tuxedo styles for the groom, best man, groomsmen, fathers, and ringbearer. It's senior prom all over again!

We bought our wedding bands!
We stopped by Tiffany & Co. today and purchased our wedding bands. We already had an idea of what we wanted and had tried on various bands previously. Looking good!

We're heading to Loma Linda!
Today was "Match Day", meaning we find out where Lana will be doing her residency and basically where we will be for the next three years. Southern California, here we come!

Today was Valentine's Day!
Unfortunately, Lana was stuck in surgery, so we couldn't go out for dinner. But I did bake her some cookies and we enjoyed the sweet treat!

We booked our honeymoon! Yay!
We will be spending seven relaxing days on the beautiful beaches of Maui! Don't worry, we're not camping on the beach; we'll be staying at the Four Seasons Hotel. If you guys have any ideas on where we should go or things to see, please let us know!

This past week, we took our annual road trip and traveled all the way to... Southern California! We know it doesn't sound that glamorous, but Dave had a few vacation days to use and Lana wanted to visit some of the residency sites down there. So we packed our bags, hopped in the car, and drove the short six-hour journey. We were able to stay at Eric's condo in Pasadena, the city where unfortunately, the Cal football team will NOT be visiting this year! While Lana spent most of the week checking out hospitals, scrubbing in on surgeries, and navigating through ridiculous LA traffic, Dave spent the week eating, shopping, shooting hoops, lounging, and catching up with friends. Can you figure out who had the better vacation?

We found it!
We took another step forward in our wedding plans today as Lana found her wedding dress! We won't post any pictures but we'll give you a hint: it was purchased at Saks Fifth Avenue. If you're a girl, you know what that means! If you're a guy, go ask a girl (or if you know what that means, kudos!).

Today we celebrated Dave's 26th birthday in style! That's right... we ate naan and curry!
There's a local place that has great naan and curry. It's appropriately called Naan & Curry Restaurant. We enjoyed two dishes, eggplant and chicken curry, with warm naan and hot chai tea. Afterwards, we went next door to Crepevine for a strawberry crepe with vanilla ice cream. Turning a year older never tasted so good!

Today we celebrated Lana's 26th birthday in style! That's right... we ate steak!
We enjoyed a delicious birthday dinner at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. We started off the evening with a scrumptious crab cake appetizer followed by warm sourdough bread with melting butter. Our medium-cooked steaks were accompanied by garlic mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. We topped off the night with a trip to Marco Polo for gelato. Yum!

We had the opportunity to try the menu that we are planning to have for our reception. The food was excellent and the presentation was beautiful. Both of our families had full stomachs by the end of the night! Here's a preview:

1) Six Happiness Cold Platter
2) Snow Crab Claw
3) Sea Scallops with Toasted Macadamia Nuts
4) Supreme Sharkfin Soup
5) Peking Duck with Mandarin Buns
6) Imperial Lobster
7) Dried Scallops with Seasonal Vegetables
8) Steamed Chilean Sea Bass
9) Fook Kien Fried Rice
10) Chilled Mango Pudding

We spent our Saturday touring the sites of Seattle. It was a beautiful, sunny day and we were able to go up the Space Needle and enjoy the 360 degree, breath-taking view. Dinner was excellent; we highly recommend the crab cake appetizers (as recommended to us by our friend, Ky).

Safeco Field is the home of the Seattle Mariners, the only Major League Baseball team within a seven state area. Unfortunately, they were playing on the road this weekend and we just missed the stadium tour. As you can see, we kept ourselves busy. We helped Ichiro (apparently, the Japanese term for "baseball") pick his boogers and found the glove that Christian baseball players use (because it's "holey").
