Just Roads
I figured it was time to devote a page or two to pictures of my favorite roads. Nothing else. No peering off into swamps or banging around old houses. No history, geography, hydrology, or geology mentioned. Maybe some.
These are the roads that have made my stories. They have guided me.
They have offered up their "goods", always taking a backseat to all the interesting places along their way.
It is time to give them their due.
La.964, east of its intersection with US 61, just south of St.Francisville. My secret route through the Felicianas on into Folsom. If you want it, write. Fagon, I already gave it to you.  From St. Francisville to Bogalusa is "something else" La.
One of the many small lanes in Southwest Mississippi. Heading toward Red Bluff. This is the area above the boot top of Louisiana. Fagon says there are so many paved lanes because the state figured paving would save them money  maintaining school bus routes. If you doubt this explanation, please write, B.S.Fagon in S.MS.
Neighborhood road in Covington, a town like no other in Louisiana. The bridge crosses a beautiful creek.. Covington is on the Northshore, about five miles from Lake Pontchartrain.
"Northshore" is a La. word.
Like "WesBank", "DaParish".
   La. 38, obviously.
A great riding road in Washingon Parish, Southeastern Louisiana. It runs east to west  above La. 10.Washington Parish is the toe nail on the foot that is La.'s shape. No "toe nail" comments.
La. 38 runs into Chipola on its way to meet La.10. At Chipola I went north on 1044 to the Mississippi State Line where it looks like it gets lost. I'm going back to join it.
Big hill in Ben'sCreek WMA, just east of Bogalousa, off La. 10.
Turn in at the Lookout Tower You guys with on/off bikes. This is a great place to ride, just stay on the "roads". (they are really trails). Don't go in hunting season. I was not smiled at by a hunter I passed on the main road. Some people are possessive.
Garden City street. Garden City is east of Centerville on La.182 and Bayou Teche. The limbs were whipping and there was no wind. A fairly dismaying sight. Haunted, you bet.
There will be a link to the road's article.
