Atlantic

The Atlantic coastline of Morocco proved to be a welcome relief after days traveling in the dust of the Atlas mountains and through the sands of the desert. The water was very refreshing, the waves awesome, and for November, the weather was perfect with not many tourists invading our privacy. Needless to say, we spent most of our time resting next to ocean

Thunderous waves crashing against the rocky shore

Eventually we made our way from Cueta through the Moroccan border post, towards the Atlantic. Storms further north made the sea very unwelcome for anyone, but the ferocity died down eventually and we could enjoy the splendour of being next to breaking wave

Camping next to the sea

Camping next to the sea never seemed to be a problem. The locals fishermen never even blinked looking at our vehicles parked on the edge overlooking the beauty. Going to bed with the waves soothing you to another world, is something everybody longs for

Camping on the beach

A few nights we decided to camp on the beach itself. The sand was hard enough to drive on without deflating tyres, and no one else could come close. Is this what we came for? Being able to completely break away from anything material and find solace within each other and our surroundings? We spent three nights at this secluded spot (GPS co-ordinates can be provided)

Our view for three nights

Every night we were treated with a magical sunset. With no one else around, it gave us chance to think about everything - our purpose on earth, the significance of it all and if we'll ever be able to have it this good! Within days our London memories have been erased by the tranquility of the coast. It was indeed a special time for us all, and made those months of preparation back in London seem worth all the effort. It was as if nothing else mattered on earth - all boundaries were broken down, peace entered our hearts

Collecting firewood

Our only chores included collecting firewood for the evening meal. The rest of the day we would lounge around, go swimming fly kites and consider ourselves lucky to be in the position to visit countries of beauty

Campfire

United we would sit around the campfire and share our feelings. These times are always considered special - especially if you can share it amongst friends
