| History: At the age of 8 years old, Rodney took an interest in classical music, when a local orchestra visited his elementary school. His parents soon rented him a violin, but after only a few weeks the young musican was not "clicking" with the instrument. Three years would pass until Rodney tried to play the trumpet for about 3 months, and then the alto saxophone for about 6 months. None of which seemed to suit Rodney, and he finally decided he would give the guitar a serious try at the age of 12. He began taking private lessons from the guitarist (Tom Carleno), and continued those lessons for about 2 years. Rodney went on to teach himself for the next 3 years after that, before studying classical and flamenco guitar with (John McCoy) at the age of 18. It was around that time when Rodney left the Colorado metal band "apathy" to pursue classical studies. Rodney went on to perform classical and flemenco guitar at many cafe's, bar's, and events throughout Colorado. The guitarist was a member of the Denver classical guitar society 1999-2000, and has performed on televison twice; once on a Denver access program called "whats up with youth talk" 1996, and on UPN's Ruff Kutts in 2003. Rodney has made a name for himself througout Colorado as a classical and flamenco guitarist; and now is back to the metal scene, more skilled then ever. The guitarist also composes music for piano, & various string instuments. And currently has 5 CD's of various genres that were recorded at his small home studio (R.W Productions). |
