Our Fraternity Lambda Alpha History
The Lambda Alpha chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota began in September of 2002 when a group of 15 colligate women came together with a sincere interest in music to work toward the same goal: becoming members of SAI. The group began as Sisters In Music. The women of this group put a lot of hard work, time, dedication, and overcame many obstacles.
Sisters In Music worked hard for a year at completing service projects, fundraisers, and recitals before reaching the requirements and turning in their petition to become Members In Training. The fifteen ladies of Sisters In Music reached their goal of becoming charter members of the Lambda Alpha chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota on the campus of East Tennessee State University on December 6, 2003 and they could not be prouder. The chartering members were: Kimberly Correll, Holly Sansom, Stacie Babecka, Agia Han, Veronica Trent, Christina Reiswig, Krystal Leonard, Sarah Reesman, Jennifer Hoit, Clarissa Kosmak, Tiina Tolvanen, Katie DeBusk, Colleen Cribbs, and Jennifer Ricks.
