The 90's continued... AS RECORDED IN THE MINUTES AND APPROVED BY LALOR PTA
PTA sponsored�
-Halloween Dances -collected Foodtown rec�ts for cash %, money directed toward trips -Santa Secret Shoppe-if fall fundraiser was quite profitable these proceeds were used to buy toys for �Toys for Tots� program; also was used to buy food baskets for 3 needy families -12/91 �Decorate the Christmas Ball Contest� 1st prize each classroom -Santa assembly with treats and small gifts -Teacher/PTA luncheons at Christmas
-Spring Dances -B.E.A.R. fair magazine sale, a few years these proceeds were used for a Parent Appreciation dinner; one year these funds were used to purchase standing fans for the classrooms -Book fairs with proceeds and bonus points going to library -Lalor spelling bee with trophies and certificates of participation - hosted Grandparents Day and provided refreshments -helped with and provided refreshments and ribbons for Field Day (later these two events were combined)
-Egg Hunts -Kindergarten Orientation refreshments -sold Mothers Day flower corsages -hosted and provided funds for the �End of Year Picnic� (6/90-hope to be annual event) -provided ice cream and paper products (92/93 began the purchase of paper products for entire school) for classroom parties (3) -4/90 hosted a Candidates Night
-provided a pizza party for the �Caring Children� a guidance program -paid for the cost of the fifth grade luncheon and bus to Ground Round **at times the bus came out of school budget as available, also give 5th graders a t-shirt and small gift -jacket, t-shirt,sweatsuit sales -Back to School Night refreshments -purchased corsages for special programs
-hosted a Board of Education Budget presentation -organized and hosted a Chinese Auction -served and funded CAT breakfast and treat for all at conclusion of testing -funded and planted bushes, flowers and/or mulch for Earth Day,beautification of grounds -provided �I�m Special�pencils for self-esteem day a guidance program -provided refreshments and hosted for D.A.R.E. program -rewarded classrooms with 100% PTA membership -honored teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week
-honored our secretary for Secretary�s Day - a very successful carnival was held 5/92 -room mother coordinator -provided Halloween costumes to be used for children who did not have one-later supplemented this again -honored our school aids for �National Education Support Personnel Day� 11/18 - � day pretzel sales -purchased flags for �Flag Day� -started a �Birthday Book Club�, where the donor would donate a book on his/her birthday and have a plate placed in the book -provided pencils for honor roll gifts -when the need arose PTA paid for the parties of the Special Education classes -hosted the Hamilton Township Spelling Bee in 1994 -began Spring fundraisers in 1994 -Alumni Scholarship created �94 criteria discussed but never voted upon,awarded to Daniel Veldof in 1994 -provided bubbles to first grade for a science experiment -sold pretzels to offset the 5th trip -in 1995 the 5th grade trip changed to �Medieval Times� has continued since -in 1995 Alumni Scholarship awarded to Alyza Szajna -supplemented party money to classrooms as needed
-Atlantic City bus trip '98 -Trenton Thunder tickets '98 '99 -3/98 voter registration drive -5/98 another carnival held -9/98 held a "Welcome Back to School" teachers luncheon -winter '98 Trenton Thunder Reading Program, participants who meet requirements receive 2 Trenton Thunder tickets -awarded 3-$200 Alumni Scholarships to Krista Pallay, Jennifer Chamberlain and Daniel Boyle -Appreciation Day ( 6/16/99 ) for Dominic our custodian
PTA received a certificate for 100% Teacher Membership (�90,�93,�94, '99 ); 10% increased membership certificate in '90 '99; and Honorable Mention on their publicity book '99.
PTA received $400 from Al Lyons for school store
