-10/89 emergency lighting (exit doors) finished -new fire detection system by December -in November Ms.Gellar announced her retirement, we were to have an acting principal until February -11/89Desegregation Plan Meeting of Board of Education
-1/90 Desegregation Committee of the Board of Education included Lalor as one of its �targeted� schools -1/29/90 Mr. Poedubicky became our new principal -2/90 IQE voted down by Board of Education and forms Desegregation Committee of the Board of Education; asks for Lalor to nominate someone to represent Lalor
-2/90 all doors except Andrew Street door to be locked due to safety issue -inquiry by Dr.Poedubicky regarding care of fence -fire code violations in school to be corrected -new tile on stairs and landings to be corrected -2/90 Superintendent search
-2/90 to 2/92 Founders Day attended at Mercer County Council of PTA�s -4/90 Lalor representative Proulx reports progress of Desegregation Committee -2 VC trailers will be supplied to Lalor, one for storage, one for phys/ed equipment -summer asbestos removal -announcement that our school system will implement School Based Management Committees -9/90 Desegregation Committee pairs Lalor with Robinson school for 5th grade trips --new blacktop following removal of underground tanks -9/90 Dr.Poedubicky forms a Building Management Plan Advisory Committee consisting of 4 staff/4 parents to meet monthly (they developed a mission for Lalor School which is-�Lalor School-our mission is the Future�Our Children� Also formed a Budget Advisory Committee of 2 staff/2 parents. - -12/90 made Gale Szajna a lifemember -new lights in cafeteria and new blackboard in a classroom -curbs and lines repainted around school and 12 cones obtained -Our school received 2 Brass Ring Awards -spring 91 our school failed CAT test (74% passing-need 75%) -2/93 Founders Day-instrumental concert, past presidents and former board members, candle lighting, gifts and certificates to former presidents
-92/93 Dr.Poedubicky�s goal is to turn a vacant room into a computer room. To have 20 computers up and running this year. Objective (1) for every student to become computer aware (2) for the computers to be used to develop critical thinking skills and application beyond the classroom. -92/93 family math to begin for 3rd grade -Mrs.Graziano began a �Paired Partner� reading program and provided a demonstration (5-15 minutes per day, side by side, questioning as reading, charts to take home)
-10/92 26 computers delivered (but only room for 18) -inside doors replaced due to fire code violation (as well as rear doors) -The level of lead in the cafeteria tables within acceptable legal limits so cafeteria tables will not be replaced -3/93 Dr.Poedubicky arranged a program�HIV/AIDS �A Challenge to us All� �as of this time there is no Board of Education policy -spring 93 received 9 new cafeteria tables -spring 93 Dr.Poedubicky had sponsored a �Partners in Excellence Program� to secure a set of encyclopedias for each classroom (children received medals and awards)
-Dr.Poedubicky takes responsibility for Safe Arrival Program -Trip Medication Policy (93/94) 1) to be given by certified school nurse or 2) by parent of the child or 3) a Dr.�s note exempting the child from taking the medication that day. --fall 93 Building Management Committee turned over to the Executive Board of the PTA -11/93 computers networked -roof repairs and flashing 99% complete -2/94 and 2/95 Founders Day- attended Mercer County Council of PTA�s -5/94 grant written to update Basic Skills Room
-9/94 the computer room is deemed antiquated -Parent Resource Center is set up in library -June 19-30 asbestos removal -oil tanks removed summer of 1995 -new lights in classrooms for energy conservation -new gas furnace -announced that by 9/96 roof repairs, auditorium enclosure, safety treads for stairs
-2/96 NJ State Audit Recommends Lalor School be closed -2/96 Founders Day concert and vocal presentation -3/96 Lalor School recognized for its �Peace Program� and will share $260,000 with 6 other schools -2/98 Dr.Poedubicky and Marge Borysewicz made lifemembers -98/99 Mrs.Oliver named Teacher of the Year -Notice there will be No smoking on school grounds -6/98 hearing on basketball court
-Lalor to be "wired" summer 1998,Net Day will be 10/99 -6/98 announcement that 4 teachers of Lalor School honored as Best Practice for Rain forest project (Mrs.Dickson,Ms. Goliszewski,Mrs.Graziano, and Mrs.Szilvasi -summer 1998 Mrs.Noble painted beautiful murals in the school -fall 98 Lalor School had 8 winners in the Rusling Hose Fire Prevention Week contest -Net Day pushed forward to Spring '99 12/99 traffic bureau to monitor traffic in front of school -1/99 renovation of library -1/99 received 3 designs for faculty parking lot
-2/99 Nina McGuire named lifemember -Net Day postponed until fall '99 -Hamilton Township School District announces that "it is aware of wordly events and is working on safety strategies in case of emergency"
