JOY OF PARENTHOOD

Even before the baby was born, the thoughts of having him/her in the family, our own creation, were sources of tremendous joy to both of us. After his birth, our life started revolving around him. The feeling of solemn determination to bring him up in the best possible way, even be beyond our means, overpowered our minds. It is parental love, the selfless love expecting nothing in return to balance it, the love associated with the joy of parenthood. When he grew up, our total involvement in his studies, in his holistic growth and his well being was quite natural because somewhere beneath these worries and tension, was the joy of parenthood. This is from a parents diary, describing their joy when their son was with them and when he goes away for his studies and job.
