BWCA trip - Lakes - Part I

Cross Bay Lake

This is Cross Bay Lake. This is where we camped the first night. We went for an evening paddle and saw a moose grazing on the marsh grasses. Greg caught a fish in the lake in front of our campsight. It was wonderful.

Long Island Lake - Southeastern section

This is the view from the front of our second campsite. This is also the campsight where we saw 2 bears! Long Island Lake, southeastern end.

Cherokee Lake

A peek around the northwestern corner of our campsight on Cherokee Lake. We were on an island here and there were many other islands around us. What a fantasyland!

Frost Lake - The Beach

This is the first we saw of the area around our campsite on Frost Lake. The Beach! We saw three moose on this beach while we were there. The water was shallow for a long way out and the bottom sandy. The swimming was wonderful.

Frost Lake - Reflections

The water was still and the reflection was awesome. The clouds were clearer in the water than in the sky. Frost Lake gave us many wonders.

Snipe Lake

Snipe Lake provided us with many beautiful scenes. We camped in the southern section of the lake on a small island. This view is to the east in the evening.

Sorry this page was so hurried with the text. I only had an hour to work on the scanning and page creation tonight but promise I will come back and add more. There will be another lake page also as well as a lake sunset page. Check back often. This site will continue to evolve as did our trip. So... all rightie then..., back to the Onarock home page.
