I would like to mention a few things about myself that are not necessarily acedmically relevant. I was born and raised in Fairfax, Virginia, just outside of D.C. I am the third of four girls. My familiy is very unique in that not only is it all girls, but all my sisters are Korean. You can say I was an unexpected surprise. My oldest sister is a consultant with Anderson Consulting in Kansas City, Missouri. The next sister in line is an auditor with Ernst & Young in D.C. Finally, my little sister is a senior in high school.
I first believed that I wanted to studey and teach history, but as I took more math courses in high school I decided math was for me. So I came to Virginia Tech to study mathematics education. I continued taking history course in order to get my endorsement in history. I am planning on teaching either mathematics or history. First, I am continuing at Virginia Tech to receive my masters in Education, Curriculum, and Instruction. I will be graduating next May.
Besides teaching I have many interests. Many weekends I can be found outside hiking, boating, or just relaxing with friends. During the winter I enjoy skiing as often as I can. I also spend a lot of time at the ice skating rink. I spent ten years as a competetive figure skater before going away to school. When I'm not on the go, I love spending time reading at home and playing with my kitten, Crayola.
Currently I am busy with school and preparing for my upcoming wedding. I became engaged to my boyfriend, Bill Gracon, of five years on New Year's Eve. We are planning a June, 2001 wedding. Bill is majoring in Mining Engineering and has been co-oping in Cleveland. Upon his graduation next year we are hoping to move to either Alaska or upstate New York. It will definitely be an interesting few years. |
