Activities: Teacher reviews the different types of polygons Parallelogram: A quadrilateral with two pairs of opposite sides parallel Non-Isosceles Trapezoid: A quadrilateral with one pair of opposite sides parallel Isosceles Trapezoid: A trapezoid whose legs are congruent Equilateral Triangle: A three-sided figure with all sides congruent Square: A parallelogram with four right angles and four congruent sides Rectangle: A parallelogram with four right angles Teacher puts students in groups of three Students do planned activity Students collect needed materials Students cut out dollar bill Students fold dollar bill along dotted lines to create given polygons All students in the group must complete a polygon at the same time Once one is completed, teacher checks off the group Students repeat until they have created all 10 polygons listed Closing Students hand in complete worksheet Discussion about the various polygons Assign polygon homework
