Laisha Wilkins Pérez is a remarkable Mexican actress, who has participated in a wide range of television shows, ranging from co-hosting talk shows to being interviewed on them herself, taking part of reality shows, modeling and  acting in many soap operas.

Born on May 18, 1976, Laisha lived most of her childhood in Mexico, and she was very close to her sister Jatzidi. She loved going to the beach and building sand castles, and was always a very vain person.

One thing that you will easily note when you watch her interviews, or when you see her give her point of view in one co-host performances, is that Laisha is a very down-to-earth person with very rational and well-thought opinions. Even though she is aware of her outer beauty and talent in the entertainment business, Laisha seems to strive for something else. She is truly concerned about her health and seems to be well-informed of current events, and is a very objective person as well.

While co-hosting "El Show de Cristina" on summer of 2004, Laisha mentioned to a troubled young lady that currently, at 28 years of age, she still didn't consider herself a fully-matured person and was aware that she had a lot of inner-growing to do. She also told a girl who suffered from anorexia that staying in shape was not easy, for she herself spent a lot of time working out (lately I read that she spends 2 hours a day in the gym) , but that obviously anorexia was a dangerous disease and by no means the solution to ease her vanity. Might not sound as pretty cliché advise to you - but to me its a proof of her  humble down-to-earth personality, and coming from a celebrity like Laisha, I am sure it had a pretty big impact on this girls.

Laisha is also very reserved in her personal life, and never participates on scandals or tries to draw attention to herself by making public her personal matters or getting involved in gossip of other stars. For example, during an appearance in El Gordo y La Flaca, Laisha graciously refused to speak of her personal life when repeatedly prompted by the show's host.

It is not hard to guess that Laisha has many admirers who find her very attractive. At 5'7, many have seen the long-haired actress change the color of her hair to fit the profile of the diverse characters she plays. By the way, most of those characters are often the antagonists or "bad" girls (with the exception of some shows, such as "Soñadoras") but she claims to find their roles more interesting than that of other characters. The key, she says, is to try to understand the characters and the reasons why they act in destructive ways.

Her latest soap opera appearance was as Paula Murillo in "Bajo la Misma Piel", in which she plays a character that is highly jealous of her sister and hates her family. Laisha recognizes that this soap opera was different than the other "more juvenile" productions in which she appears, and claims to have learned a lot from the other actors/actresses and to enjoy the more professional environment that surrounded the production.

Well, now that you have a small idea of who Laisha is, maybe you'd like to get to know more about her. I don't know a whole lot about her myself (as I said, she is very reserved) but I think I have a pretty good idea of who she is and have a good concept of the actress. So, keep your eyes open (Univision should be a good place to look for her), because Laisha will be around for a while!
