It seems that a cat is supposed to be outdoors "playing" with birds and butterflies, not kept in a house.
But in "Formosa" Taiwan, grassland is an luxurious dream and all we can see is traffic, pollution, and waste.
In addition, most Taiwanese people have stereotyped bad impression on cats. These are all the factors that would cause an outdoor cat dying young.
But a domestic cat is almost like a member of the family, treated weel, but lacking the wildness that a cat should have.
In my personal opinion,
if you want your cat to be an outdoor cat, keep him outdoors,
and if you want a domestic cat, don't let him go outdoors.
Maybe the idea is a little despotic,
maybe you would like to have a outdoor cat also enjoying the goods of being domestic,
maybe you would like to have a domestic cat also enjoying the freedom of being outdoor,
but it is crual to have a cat being used to two differnt kinds of lives. It will confuse the cat, also bother the "owner'.
I thought of some "kind" people once they gave me a dog leash so that I could take kiki out for a walk sometimes.
