Pre-Rehearsal Rubric
Pre-Rehearsal
(10 %): Students will earn this grade in the first three minutes of the band
period each day. The following
rubric will be used:

Woodwind/ Brass Students |
Student is always seated well before the third
minute of the period with the instrument fully assembled and music and
pencil on the stand. Student
uses appropriate and helpful warm-ups. |
Student is always seated by the third minute of the
period with the instrument fully assembled and music and pencil on the
stand. |
Student is always seated by the third minute of the
period with the instrument fully assembled. Student tends to lack music or a pencil.

Student is inconsistently seated by the third
minute of the period. Instrument
is sometimes not fully assembled and student is often missing music and/or
a pencil. Student wastes time
before rehearsal |
Student consistently takes more than three minutes
to be seated in rehearsal. Student

Percussion student is always fully equipped for
rehearsals and ready for the first piece on the agenda before the third
minute of the period. Percussionist
is prepared with a pencil and music and uses appropriate drills and
warm-ups. |
