Lesson Attendance

 

Student is present at each lesson or may have 1 or 2 excused absences from his/her lessons within the 10-week marking period. If excused, the student schedules a make-up lesson with teacher. Student has 1 or 2 excused absences from his/her lessons within the 10-week marking period. Student does not communicate absences with teacher and does not schedule make-up lessons. Student has 1 or 2 unexcused absences from his/her lessons within the 10-week marking period. Student does not schedule make-up lessons with the teacher. Student has 3 or more unexcused absences from his/her lessons within the 10-week marking period. Student does not schedule make-up lessons with teacher.

Lesson Preparation Student performs the lesson assignments accurately at the indicated tempo. Student performs the lesson assignments accurately at a tempo slower than indicated. Student performs the lesson assignments with a few obvious musical errors at a tempo slower than indicated. The student does not stop during the performance of the assignments. Student performs the lesson assignments with several obvious musical errors at a tempo slower than indicated. The student stops frequently during the performance of the assignments.
Effort (Practicing) Student practices 5 days per week at a minimum average of 20 minutes per day, as indicated on the weekly practice sheet. Student practices 4 days per week at a minimum average of 20 minutes per day, as indicated on the weekly practice sheet. Student practices 2 to 3 days per week at a minimum of 20 minutes per day, as indicated on the weekly practice sheet. Student practices 0 to 1 day per week at a minimum of 20 minutes per day, as indicated on the weekly practice sheet.
