CHAPTER 3:
Lori: Yeah, I actually met them.
Narrator: She was talking to a good friend on the phone about her run-in with the guys of Dream Street. Her friend's name was Jessica and she was the out-going-out-spoken one out of the two. Lori tended to be the shy-quiet one.
Jessica: So which one did you hook up with?
Lori: None of 'em....unfortunately.
Narrator: She frowned even though her friend couldn't see.
Jessica: None of 'em?
Lori: None of 'em.
Jessica: I'm sorry.
Lori: It's not your fault. I mean, I'm not exactly Miss Popular or Miss Teen USA. I'm a boring girl from New Hampshire. I just don't have that appeal or allure. It's so pathetic.
Jessica: Not with that negative attitude.
Lori: Yeah...Well, all I need is a guy who won't judge me and a guy who will sweep me off my feet. A guy who'll love me unconditionally.
Narrator: Out of nowhere there was a knock on the front door of Lori's house, which made her wonder who it could possibly be. When she looked out the bay window and saw the guys standing there she was in total shock. She couldn't believe her eyes!
Lori: Hey Jess, I got to go. Bye.
Jessica: OK. Bye.
Narrator: Once she hung up the phone she ran down the stairs and opened the door, after she had calmed down.
Guys: Hey.
Lori: Hey.
Matt: (flirting with her) 'Sup sexy?
Lori: Nothin'. You?
Matt: S.O.S....same old shit. Kinda bored.
Lori: So this is what you do in your spare time? Knock on doors of your loyal fans?
Matt: Only the ones I really like.
Lori: Of course. Of course. Right. (pause) Why are you here though? I don't have any sisters.
Matt: So? I came here to see you.
Lori: Well you saw me. Now you can go.
Narrator: The guys snickered while Matt looked at her, wondering why she was being a smart ass. Then he finally figured it out....after thinking about the numerous possibilities. Only one reason came to mind.
Matt: Are you trying to piss me off?
Lori: Hmm...no.
Narrator: She giggled.
Matt: Then do you care to tell me why you're bein' a smart ass?
Lori: Nope.
Narrator: She giggled again.
Jesse: Someone's giggly.
Lori: Giggly. What a cool word!
Narrator: The guys laughed, including Matt.
Matt: Lorr?
Lori: Matt?
Matt: Why are you in such a good mood?
Lori: (shrugging her shoulders) I dunno.
Matt: Liar.
Lori: Wow. Now I'm a liar and jealous of Matt' s 'girlfriend' Shakira. I'm having quite the week.
Matt: That sarcastic attitude isn't going to get you anywhere.
Lori: And neither is accusing me of being jealous of fuckin' Shakira.
Greg: If you two like each other why do you treat each other like shit?
Lori: I'll admit that I like Matt, but I highly doubt that he likes me. I'm not exactly his type.
Chris: What do you think is his type?
Lori: I dunno. Some ditzy Shakira look-a-like.
Matt: Oh yeah. That sounds so attractive.
Lori: See...it his type.
Matt: It's called sarcasm sweetie. Look it up.
Lori: Look this up.
Narrator: As she said that she gave him the middle finger.
Matt: God you're so hott. I want you so much.
Narrator: The guys snickered.
Lori: Shove it.
Matt: That wasn't very lady-like.
Lori: Screw you.
Matt: I bet you wanna.
Lori: Fuck off.
Matt: You're so mean. What the hell crawled up your ass and died?
Lori: Umm....nothing you insensitive prick.
Matt: Stupid bitch.
Lori: Asshole.
Matt: Slut.
Lori: Playa.
Matt: Jealous ho.
Chris: You two are morons.
Lori: Fag.
Matt: I'm not a fag Lori.
Lori: You sure?
Matt: Yeah, I'm sure. (pause) I like girls.
Lori: You like girls like Shakira.
Narrator: She rolled her eyes.
Matt: Come on Lorr. Shakira's just-----
Lori: Your obsession? The love of your life?
Matt: Lorr, she's just my celeb crush....nothing more....she never will be....she's too old for me.
Lori: Rrright.
Matt: It's true. Why won't you believe me?
Lori: 'Cuz I have a hard time trusting guys. I dunno.
Narrator: She shrugged her shoulders.
Jesse: You can trust Matt.
Chris: Yeah, he's a great friend.
Lori: (without much enthusiasm) I bet.
Matt: What happened to that giggly girl?
Lori: She died.
Greg: She died? How?
Lori: She gave up on her dream and she just died.
Matt: Gave up on what dream?
Lori: The dream of being with the guy of her dreams.
Matt: Why'd she die 'cuz of that?
Lori: 'Cuz she realized she'd never be able to be with the guy of her dreams and that just----it ruined her. A part of her just died.
Narrator: She shrugged her shoulders.
Matt: Does this have anything to do with you and me?
Lori: Oh come on Matt. Don't flatter yourself.
Matt: I'm not flattering myself. I'm telling the truth. Or I'm trying to get the truth so I know how you truly feel.
Lori: Like you care.
Matt: Why are you so----why can't you just be open with me? Why do you have to make things so difficult?
Lori: Just leave Matt. Go daydream about Shakira or whatever. I don't care anymore.
Greg: Ouch.
Chris: That sucks.
Jesse: It definitely sucks.
Frankie: That's gonna leave a mark.
Matt: I don't wanna leave. I wanna be here..with you. It's just....why can't I understand you? Why don't you believe me? Why are you shutting me out?
Lori: It's pretty sad when you only like a girl who's a celebrity when there are thousands of girls out there who love you more than life itself and want to be with you more than anything. You're gonna be missin' out on somethin' special.
Matt: Shakira is just my celeb crush. I like other girls besides her.
Lori: Yeah...like Britney Spears and that blonde girl from Dream. Oh and by the way-----her name's Melissa.
Matt: Celeb crushes...that's it.
Lori: I guess guys like fake beauty. Man how sad is that?
Matt: Pretty sad.
Lori: Yeah. Well, it was nice of you guys to stop by, but I got to go.
Matt: Go? Where?
Lori: Inside and just hang out.
Greg: By yourself?
Lori: Yep. By myself.
Matt: Want us to keep you company?
Lori: No.
Matt: Are you positive?
Lori: No.
Matt: You do want us to keep you company, don't you?
Lori: Yeah but I mean you guys probably have better things to do.
Guys: Like what?
Lori: I dunno.
Matt: We came over to see you and hang out with you, Lorr.
Lori: Aww. You shouldn't have.
Matt: Can we hang out with you? Please?
Greg: He's hot for you.
Matt: Sue me.
Chris: Lorr, he really likes you.
Matt: And your point would be?
Frankie: Stop treating her like shit and make a move.
Lori: You guys do know that I'm right here.....Right?
Matt: I would if she and I were alone.
Narrator: As soon as he said that the guys went off in different directions. He looked around then looked at Lori, who was staring at him.
Lori: Wanna come in?
Matt: Yeah.
Narrator: * Inside * ....
Matt: Do you really think I'm an asshole?
Lori: No.
Matt: So why'd you call me an asshole?
Lori: 'Cuz you called me a stupid bitch.
Matt: I was only playin' around.
Lori: You sounded pretty serious to me.
Matt: Well I wasn't babe. I don't think you're jealous. I don't think you're a stupid bitch. I don't think you're a slut and I don't think you're a jealous ho.
Lori: So what do you think?
Matt: I think that you're a shy, self-concious girl who just needs someone to love her. I think that you're beautiful and sexy and sweet and nice and -----I like you. A lot. I've never met a girl like you before.
Lori: Is that a good thing?
Matt: What? That I've never met a girl like you before?
Lori: Yeah.
Matt: It's definitely a good thing.
Lori: OK.
Matt: I've met some fake girls before, but you---you're different. You don't take shit from me or anyone else and that's hot. It just makes me like you even more.
Lori: Are you just saying this 'cuz you know I like you?
Matt: I knew that was comin'.
Lori: How?
Matt: I just had a feeling.
Lori: So?
Matt: So?
Lori: So- are you just saying you like me 'cuz you know how I feel about you?
Matt: No I'm not.
Lori: So you're not just tellin' me what I wanna hear?
Matt: No. I'm being honest. I do like you a lot and we only met yesterday.
Lori: I dunno.
Matt: Dunno what?
Lori: Dunno if I should belive you or not.
Matt: Oh. Well you can believe me if you want to or I can just prove it to you.
Lori: Prove it to me? How?
Matt: By asking you if you'd like to go out with me tonight. Ladie's choice. We can go anywhere you want to.
Lori: Are you serious?
Matt: Yeah I am.
Lori: How serious?
Matt: Pretty serious. So, will you?
Lori: Yeah.
