CHAPTER 4: Just Talk To Me!!!
Narrator: Later that day Matt was getting ready for his date with Lori when the door to their (Chris, Greg, Jesse, Frankie and Matt) hotel room opened. Matt's friends entered with a few bags in their hands. Frankie shut the door behind them. They put their bags down then looked at Matt, who was looking at his reflection in the mirror. (He was making sure he looked good for his date with Lori.)
Chris: Whoa. What's with the tux? Someone die?
Narrator: Matt rolled his eyes in response to his friend's lame ass question.
Matt: Nobody died Chris.
Chris: Then what's with the tux?
Frankie: Is he going out with Lori tonight?
Narrator: His friends looked at him then they looked at Matt, who looked extremely annoyed.
Matt: Does it matter if I am or not?
Greg: We just wanna know why you're so dressed up.
Matt: I'm going on a date with.....Lori.
Guys: (teasing him) Oooh.
Matt: Shuddup.
Greg: Where you taking her? A ball?
Narrator: The guys laughed except for Matt who didn't look very amused by their stupid comments.
Matt: We're not going to a ball.
Jesse: So where are you two going?
Matt: We're going to the beach.
Jesse: Who the hell wears a tux to the beach?
Chris: Apparently Matt does.
Jesse: Apparently.
Narrator: Just as the guys were about to say something there was a knock on the door.
Matt: Someone wanna get that so I can finish getting ready?
Narrator: The guys opened the door and they were speechless. Lori was standing there, wearing a beautiful black dress that fit her perfectly, showing off her curvy figure. On her feet were black dress shoes and her beautiful, long blonde hair was pulled up in a loose bun with a few strands hanging down by her face. A beautiful necklace was around her neck.
Matt: (loudly) Who's at the door?
Greg: Cinderella.
Matt: No seriously. Who's at the door?
Guys: Cinderella.
Matt: Come on guys. Just tell me who's at the door.
Chris: We are but you won't believe us.
Matt: Well I don't care about Cinderella. I just want to see Lori and spend time with her and hold her and ---- yeah, I'm gonna shut up now.
Chris: You're in love.
Matt: Umm...I don't think so.
Greg: Don't lie. We all know you have the hots for her.
Matt: You're saying that like it's a bad thing.
Chris: Well, it's not.
Matt: Thank you. (long pause) So who's at the door?
Greg: Your cinderella.
Matt: Oh my fuckin' god! Will you guys stop with da Cinderella thing? It's getting annoying!
Chris: Then I'll just have to take this princess to the beach myself.
Matt: (confused) What are ya talkin' about?
Frankie: Umm....Matt....your date is here and has been for the past seven minutes.
Narrator: Matt was finally done getting ready so he walked over to his friends and once he saw Lori standing there, looking absolutely gorgeous, he felt like a total dumbass for not believing them.
Matt: Damn girl. You look fiiiine.
Chris: What a moron.
Greg: Dude, she does look fine.
Chris: He just acted like an idiot then he greets her like that? And I know she looks fine. I'm not blind.
Matt: Lorr you look beautiful.
Lori: T- Thanks. (pause) You're lookin' pretty fine yourself.
Matt: You really think so?
Lori: You always do.
Matt: It's about time you showed that soft side.
Lori: Don't think I'm letting my guard down yet Matt.
Matt: What will it take for you to let your guard down?
Lori: Time.
Matt: Time alone or time alone with someone else or time alone with me?
Lori: Umm. . .
Narrator: She hesitated then looked down at the floor, trying to avoid eye contact with him, but that didn't last long when he took her hand and made her look at him.
Matt: Tell me.
Lori: (dumbfounded) T- Tell you what?
Matt: Tell me what you meant by time. Time for what?
Lori: I dunno what I meant by that.
Matt: Just tell me babe.
Lori: I'm not gonna embarrass myself.
Matt: You won't. Now just tell me. Do you need time alone? Do you need time with someone else? Or do you want to spend more time with me and stuff?
Lori: Does it matter?
Matt: Yeah, it does matter. Lorr, your feelings matter even though some people might not give a shit. It matters to me. You matter to me. I care about you. I- I just want you to know that. (pause) So tell me.
Lori: Matt just----drop it.
Matt: I don't want to. Lorr just talk to me.
Lori: I can't.
Matt: Of course you can.
Lori: NO I can't.
Matt: Yes you can.
Lori: NO I CAN'T!!
Matt: Yeah you can now just talk to me! Please! Lorr just talk to me and tell me what's going on.
Lori: Nothing's going on Matt and neither are we. Peace.
Narrator: And with that she turned around and disappeared down the hallway.
