Our Love Will Never Die- Chapter Three
Narrator: At FYE the guys sat in the chairs that were already set up. It went Greg, Chris, Jesse, Matt and Frankie. Tanya, Jessica and Lori were watching them nearby. When Greg felt somebody's eyes on him he looked around and his brown eyes landed on his girlfriend a few feet away. He immediately blew her a kiss. She smiled and blew him a kiss back. He smiled back at her.
Matt: You really like her, huh?
Narrator: Greg smiled.
Greg: Yeah. I really do. She's the best thing that's happened to me.
Matt: I'm happy for you.
Jesse: The fans are gonna get so pissed when they find out your girlfriend's here.
Greg: Well the fans aren't gonna find out. Besides, it's none of their business.
Jesse: Well they seem to think it is.
Greg: Yeah well it's not. They're seriously mistaken.
Chris: So what are you and Lori doing after the meet and greet?
Greg: I'm taking her out to eat then the movies.
Chris: Really?
Greg: Yeah. She actually offered to buy the movie tickets.
Matt: Wow. None of your girlfriends have said that before.
Greg: Yeah, I know, but I told her that I wanted to treat her. She like flipped out on me.
Chris: Are you gonna let her buy the tickets for the movies?
Greg: No.
Jesse: Why not? It's not every day you get a girl who's willin' to pay.
Greg: Because I want to pay. She's amazing and I love her. I want to spoil her.
Chris: Just don't get carried away that she starts to take advantage of you.
Greg: Nah. That won't happen. She's not that kinda girl.
Frankie: She's somethin' special. Don't let her go.
Greg: I don't intend to. She's mine.
Matt: She's like staring at you.
Greg: It doesn't bother me. She's the only girl who's actually given me this kind of attention. All the girls I dated asked me for backstage passes, jewelry, stuffed animals, concert tickets....Lori hasn't asked me for anything. She told me that all she cares about is being with me and me. She doesn't care about the material things.
Guys: Wow.
Matt: If only there were girls like her everywhere. How fuckin' sweet would that be?
Greg: I'm sure Jessica and Tanya are like that.
Frankie: Tanya's awesome.
Chris: Jessica is, too, but honestly, I don't really see her in a romantic way. She's just a buddy to me.
Greg: Well that could change Chris.
Chris: I don't know. Maybe.
Matt: Now I wish there were girls like Lori all over the place. Get rid of the fake girls like Britney Spears and all them...all us guys would be set. Finally a girl who wouldn't cheat on us...a girl who wouldn't take advantage of us...a girl who wouldn't treat us like shit...a girl who wouldn't go cheat on us with our best friends....a girl who we could trust...Man, that'd be so fuckin' sweet.
Greg: Yeah. Totally. It'd be fuckin' awesome. I'm so lucky that I'm going out with her.
Matt: Don't rub it in.
Greg: Sorry. I'm just so happy.
Narrator: The guys were so into the conversation that they didn't realize that there were hundreds of girls just dying to meet them, in a line, standing right in front of them. Jessica, Lori and Tanya watched from far away. Girls started screaming Greg's name which made Lori's stomach tie into knots. This is the part she hated. Lucky for her she knew how Greg felt about her. He loved her.
Tanya: These girls are so full of themselves. 'Look at me, Look at me, I'm a ho'.
Narrator: Lori and Jessica burst out laughing which caused Tanya to laugh. Soon the girls were laughing hysterically. The guys could hear their giggles, but soon it was drowned out by a girl yelling at Greg to marry her and other girls yelling at the other guys to marry them and all that other shit. About an hour into the meet and greet Lori joined the line while Jessica and Tanya watched from where they were standing a few feet away. It was finally Lori's turn.
Greg: Hi. What's your name?
Lori: It's Lori.
Greg: How do you spell it?
Lori: L- o- r- i.
Greg: Pretty name.
Lori: Wow. Thanks Greg.
Greg: No problem.
Narrator: He smiled at her which made her smile back at him.
Lori: We should go to the movies sometime.
Narrator: We're going tonight baby girl, Greg thought to himself. Lori was thinking, I can't wait for tonight baby.
Girl # 1: Quit hittin' on Greg. He's my man!
Narrator: Lori rolled her eyes. Greg tried hard not to laugh because the girl sounded like a moron then he smiled when he realized that Lori was the girl who he would be going home with at the end of the night. He couldn't be happier.
Lori: Fine. I'll quit hittin' on him.
Narrator: Nah. You don't have to stop hittin' on me. I'm your man Lori, Greg added to himself.
Girl # 1: Good. NOW STEP!!!
Lori: It's my turn. Go back to where you were standin'.
Greg: All of you will get your turn. Now please get back in line. It's Lori's turn.
Girl # 1: Well she had her turn. Now it's mine.
Jesse: SECURITY!!! SECURITY!!! SECURITY!!!
Narrator: The guys burst out laughing.
Claudia: Is there a problem here?
Greg: It's Lori's turn and this girl here won't get back in line.
Claudia: Lori is your---?
Narrator: Greg just nodded, not wanting to say it out loud in front of the fans, not that he was ashamed. He loved Lori. He just didn't want there to be a huge drama scene where all the girls were fighting over him and all that other shit. He wanted a drama- free night.
Claudia: It's Lori's turn now please get back in line.
Girl # 1: But she's been here for over ten minutes.
Lori: No I haven't.
Narrator: Greg looked at her and checked her out from head to toe. He was amazed at how beautiful she actually was. Then, because it was getting hot, she took off her hoodie and Greg just watched her, trying really hard not to drool. She was wearing an Abercrombie & Fitch T-Shirt with a suggestive saying on it and he read it. He just smiled to himself. And she's all mine. YEAH BABY!!!!, he thought to himself. He looked at his friends who were looking at her as well. Claudia walked away to join Louie and Brian.
Matt: (in a whisper) She's even hotter.
Chris, Jesse and Frankie: Yeah she is.
Matt: I didn't know she looked that good.
Narrator: Greg got a weird feeling and suddenly he got this urge just to jump every bone in her body and then he coached himself to just calm down and relax. He couldn't let that feeling take over his body, no matter how hard it was. But it was natural and he couldn't help it. He found her to be extremely sexy and beautiful. And her personality made her even more beautiful. He was so happy he found a girl like her. Matt, Chris, Jesse and Frankie looked at Greg, who was licking his lips. They laughed. Then they looked at the line of girls- there were overweight ones, there were way too skinny ones, there were gorgeous ones who looked extremely stuck up and conceited, there were beautiful ones who looked like their daddies were paying for everything, there were ones with Dream Street T-shirts on, there were ones with way too much make up on and way little clothing that it was sickening, there were little kids with their parents and then there were Tanya and Jessica, who were not standing with that huge group of girls. Compared to the other girls, to the guys, they actually looked normal, which made them realize how lucky they were to be friends with them.
Chris: I never realized how beautiful Jessica was.
Frankie: Tanya and Jessica are both beautiful.
Jesse: Yeah they are.
Chris: I think I'm gonna ask Jessica to go to the movies tonight. Maybe we'll have something between us.
Frankie: I'm gonna see if Tanya wants to go to the movies.
Matt: You can't get to know them in a movie theater. You can't talk or anything.
Chris: But we can make out.
Narrator: Matt just shook his head. He couldn't believe his friend sometimes. Lori looked at Greg and even though they were at the meet and greet where there were Dream Street fans he didn't stop looking at her like he loved her. He still had that look of love and adoration in his eyes. She wanted to jump every bone in his body and satisfy his every need, but she knew that she wasn't ready for that yet. She was only 15 and she wasn't going to become a slut...or an easy lay. If only he knew what she was thinking right now....he would be surprised at what that shy girl was thinking and dreaming about.
Lori: So, Greg, do you have a girlfriend?
Narrator: Greg just looked at her. She knew what she was doing. She was trying to act like other fans- she didn't want the other fans finding out that she was his girlfriend. She waited patiently for an answer.
Greg: Yeah I do. Sorry.
Lori: It's OK. She's a very lucky girl.
Narrator: There were whispers in the background- for the news of Greg having a girlfriend has spread, but they didn't know who she was. And they weren't going to, not if Lori and Greg could help it. They wanted to keep their relationship on the down low even though they wanted to scream it from the mountain tops that they were madly in love with each other.
Greg: Yeah...she is.
Lori: I hope it works out for you.
Greg: Thanks Lori.
Lori: Anytime.
Narrator: Even though Greg had a girlfriend and even though she was standing right in front of his face, he had this urge to ask her the same question- if she had a boyfriend.
Greg: Do you have a boyfriend?
Narrator: Lori smiled at him and stared into his eyes. The look of love and adoration was still there in her eyes. Lucky for her the fans couldn't see the way she was looking at him. They would have flipped out.
Lori: Yeah and he's the best thing that's ever happened to me.
Greg: I feel the same way about my girlfriend. She's the best thing that's ever happened to me.
Lori: Well I guess my boyfriend and your girlfriend are pretty lucky then, huh?
Greg: Yeah...the luckiest.
Lori: Definitely.
Greg: Maybe we could double- date sometime.
Lori: Yeah maybe.
Narrator: I love you Greg, she thought to herself. Somehow Greg knew what she was thinking. I love you too baby girl, he thought to himself.
Greg: So umm...how long have you and your boyfriend been going out?
Lori: Oh. We just started going out today. It was kind of a love at first sight kinda deal.
Greg: Wow. Same here.
Narrator: Tanya and Jessica showed up on either side of Lori.
Greg: Who are your friends?
Lori: Oh. This is Tanya and Jessica.
Greg: Hi Tanya. Hi Jessica.
Tanya and Jessica: Hi Greg.
Greg: It's nice to meet you.
Tanya and Jessica: It's nice to meet you too Greg.
Greg: So, Lori, what's your boyfriend's name?
Lori: Funny you should ask....It's umm....Greg. (pause) What's your girlfriend's name?
Greg: She has a beautiful name....it's Lori.
Jessica and Tanya: Why are you two actin' like you don't know each other?
Narrator: Lori and Greg looked back at the fans, hoping that Jessica and Tanya would get the message, which they immediately did.
Jessica: Oh.
Tanya: OK.
Jessica and Tanya: We get it now.
Narrator: Greg and Lori were so sick of being discreet about their relationship. They wanted to act like they were before the fun was ruined. Then Greg said something that surprised Lori.
Greg: I love my girlfriend to death and I want to spend the rest of my life with her. I just know she's the one.
Narrator: The girls nearby got sick, nervous feelings in the pit of their stomachs when they heard what Greg was saying.
Lori: You're serious?
Greg: As a heart-attack.
Lori: Wow. That is one lucky girl. Have you told her?
Narrator:I just told you Lori, he thought to himself.
Greg: No I haven't.
Lori: Why not? Scared of how she'll react?
Narrator: Greg eyed her up and down. I don't know. How will you react?
Greg: No. (pause) How do you think she'll react?
Lori: She'll probably be surprised but happy at the same time. She'll probably tell you the same thing. Then she'll probably get this urge just to make out with you and she'll make the first move and well....yeah...
Greg: That'd be sweet.
Girl # 2: OK. You've had your turn. Now let the rest of us go.
Narrator: Lori frowned, which pissed Greg off. He didn't wanna see her upset.
Lori: Do you think I could get a hug first, Greg?
Narrator: You can hug me anytime you want princess. I'm yours, he thought to himself.
Greg: Sure you can.
Narrator: Greg stood up and gave her a hug. She held onto him, never wanting to let him go. Then he did something that surprised him, his friends, his girlfriend's friends and everyone else around. He backed away from her and kissed her on the lips. She kissed him back with so much passion that he could hardly stand up when she backed away from him. She smiled to herself.
Girl # 2: You have a girlfriend and you kissed another girl?
Girl # 3: (to another girl) Greg has a girlfriend and he kissed another girl.
Narrator: She is my girlfriend you dumbasses. I can kiss her anytime I want to, Greg thought to himself. Man you people are dumb. He looked at Lori and she winked at him. He winked back.
Lori: I'll see you later baby. I mean, Greg.
Greg: I'll see you later princess.
Girl # 4: He called that girl a princess.
Narrator: Now there were rumors being spread around the entire store of FYE. Greg and his friends couldn't believe that his personal life would make this much commotion. He looked at Lori and when he knew there was no one looking he gave her the middle finger. She grinned. Don't you wish Greg, she thought to herself. Greg thought, Yeah I wish. Before he could stop himself he took her face in his hands and deeply kissed her. She kissed him back and kissed even more passionately and heatedly than the last time. This intense kiss left him breathless and speechless. Damn, I want you. However, it didn't stop him from having thoughts like that.
Jessica: Come on Lori. We have to go to American Eagle. You said you wanted to buy something for your boyfriend.
Narrator: Greg frowned when he heard Jessica say that Lori had to go. He wanted her to stay so they could make out some more. But then he realized that there would be plenty of time for that.
Greg: Bye Lori.
Narrator: Lori frowned and said goodbye and wished him good luck with him and his girlfriend. He wished her the same thing with her boyfriend, knowing that they would be going home together in the end- for they were boyfriend and girlfriend after all. Greg blinked and she was gone. He looked over at his friends.
Matt: Damn. You really have the hots for her.
Jesse: He wants to-------
Narrator: He broke off.
Greg: Someday. Yeah. But not right now.
Frankie: Good. You don't want to end up on her father's bad side.
Chris: Then you'd never be able to see her again.
Greg: We'd find a way. Love always finds a way.
Matt: Do you think she's the one?
Greg: Think?
Narrator: He looked at Matt as if he was crazy.
Greg: I know she's the one.
Narrator: Suddenly Greg felt someone watching him, which made him look up. The fans were glaring evily at him, but then he looked out the windows of the store and saw Lori standing there, watching him. Right now he wanted to get out of the store as fast as he could and run away with her. She waved to him then disappeared. Damnit, he thought.
Narrator: Finally, a good forty-five minutes later, the meet and greet was finally over. Greg got up and raced out of the store, wanting to find Lori. He looked all over the place for her then he felt somebody cover his eyes with their hands. He reached up and grabbed them and turned around. Lori was standing there, looking absolutely beautiful. She took his breath away. She kissed him and backed away.
Lori: (in a whisper) Hey.
Greg: (in a whisper) Hey.
Lori: How was the meet and greet?
Greg: Long. So long.
Lori: Yeah...it seemed like forever....
Greg: I wanted to be with you.
Lori: I wanted to be with you, too.
Greg: I haven't told you this, but we're going on tour soon.
Lori: I thought you were on tour.
Greg: This is just a short tour. There's a big tour coming up. I'll be gone for almost a year I think.
Narrator: Lori's heart was slowly breaking. She couldn't believe what she was hearing, but she supported him a hundred percent. She wasn't one of those girls who didn't stand behind their men and support them. Tears began to fill her eyes, but she controlled them. She didn't want to show Greg that she was falling apart. He knew she was though. He could just tell.
Greg: I love you Lorr.
Lori: I love you Greg.
Narrator: She threw her arms around him and hugged him, holding him so tight and so close.
Lori: I love you so much.
Greg: I know you do babe. I love you a lot too. I don't want to live a day without you. I want you with me. I always want you with me.
Lori: Y- You do?
Greg: Yeah I do.
Lori: I don't want to live a day without you either. That thought just scares me to death. And I always want you with me, too.
Greg: What thought scares you to death?
Lori: Living a day without you. Having you not with me...having you not holding me...having you not there to comfort me...Greg, you don't know how much I love you.
Greg: I think I do because the thought of living without you scares me to death, too.
Lori: We're crazy.
Greg: About each other.
Lori: Y- Yeah.
Greg: Will you?
Lori: Will I what?
Greg: Will you come on tour with me?
Lori: The small one or the big one where you'll be gone for a year?
Narrator: It was extremely hard for Lori to say those words and Greg knew how hard it was for her to say it. He hated seeing her like this....on the verge of a nervous breakdown.
Greg: Both. (pause) And if you're worried about missing school or whatever we get tutored on tour so you can get tutored too. And I already talked to Claudia about it. She'd love to have you join us.
Lori: You already talked to Claudia about me going on tour with you?
Greg: Yeah. I hope you're not mad at me.
Lori: It'll take a lot for me to get mad at you. I just think that's really sweet that you did.
Greg: Hopefully you'll never get mad at me.
Lori: If I do we can always make up.
Greg: Oh. Yeah. Right. Making up is the best. Just don't leave me before we have a chance to make up.
Lori: I'll never leave you.
Greg: Good because I'll never leave you either. (pause) What would you do if I did?
Lori: If you left me?
Greg: Yeah.
Lori: Did you leave me 'cuz we fought or did you leave me so you could be with another girl?
Greg: 'Cuz we fought. Being with another girl hasn't even crossed my mind.
Lori: OK. Well, I'd miserable and I'd try my hardest and everything I could to get you back. I'm not gonna let you get away so easily. When you love somebody you'd do anything in your power to make sure your relationship works and you'd do anything in your power to keep the love alive and...
Greg: Well, our love will never die.
Lori: How do you know?
Greg: Because my love for you is beginning to grow more and more as time goes by. (pause) Our love will never die. I just know it.
Lori: Our love will never die.
