Chapter Five: Lori Comes Out of Her Shell

"You know what Brittany?" Lori said looking at Brittany.

"What?" Brittany asked snobbily.

"Matt doesn't deserve somebody like you," Lori replied. "He deserves somebody way better than you."

"Why do you say that Matt doesn't deserve somebody like me?" Brittany asked dumbfounded.

"Because you're a self-centered bitch," Lori told her acting as if Brittany should have known that by now.

"Lori," Matt began.

"Don't 'Lori' me, OK Matt?" Lori looked over at him and he stared at her then at Brittany.

"Why do you care about Matt anyway? I mean, it's not like he'd ever go out with a shy, bitchy dumb blonde like you," Brittany said looking at her.

"I don't want Matt!" Lori screamed at her.

"Then why do you care so much about his personal life?" Brittany challenged her. "And for your information, what goes on in Matt's personal life is his business and mine, seeing how you're not dating him."

"I may not be dating him Brittany, but I know that I could treat him a whole lot better than you are," Lori said.

"Stop fighting you two," Frankie said.

"NO!" Lori and Brittany shouted at him.

"Brittany, you should go," Jesse said. "You need to calm down before you say something you're going to regret later."

"I'm not leaving. I'm staying here with Matt----that way this slut over here won't have any chance of flirting with him," Brittany said looking at Jesse then over at Lori.

"You're full of shit Brittany," Jessica retorted.

"So now you can't fight your own battles?" Brittany asked looking at Lori.

"I can defend myself you stupid bitch," Lori said.

She looked over at Jessica and said, "Can we go now? Please?"

"Good. See ya," Brittany said. She gave the two girls a little wave then took Matt's hand.

"Brittany, knock it off, please?" Matt let go of Brittany's hand and turned towards her. Brittany looked at him and said, "No. She has something to say about me so I'm going to defend myself. And if she calls me a stupid bitch one more time I'm gonna kick the living shit out of her."

"You're really selling yourself short, Matt," Lori said looking at Matt. "You can do so much better."

He stared at her for a few minutes and Brittany said, "I can't believe you actually like somebody like that. She's a jealous bitch, Matt. Can you honestly say that you want to be with her instead of someone like me?"

"Matt doesn't want to be with me so shut up," Lori said angrily. "As far as I'm concerned, he made his choice. A bad one, but he made his choice."

"Go Lori. Go Lori. Go Lori," Jessica and the guys, all except for Matt, said in sing-song voices.

"Matt, why are you staring at her?" Brittany asked.

"I've never seen a guy so whipped in my life," Lori said before she walked off. She disappeared into the crowd and didn't turn back. Matt stared after her and Brittany elbowed him.

"It's pretty rude to stare at another girl when you have a girlfriend Matt," Brittany said. He just looked at her and didn't say anything. He looked at his friends and they just looked at him---like he should dump her.
