Chapter Sixteen: Late Night Talks
"Lorr, we broke up," Jesse said.
"Yeah right," she said sardonically.
"We did. I just ended it with her."
"Jesse, quit lying, OK? It's really unbecoming."
"Can we go inside so we don't bother the neighbors?"
"Why should I let you in my house?"
"Lorr? Please?"
"Fine." She opened the door and once Jesse was in, she shut it behind her. "So, why are you here?"
"I need to talk to you."
"About what? About how you were a total jerk to me today? Or about the fact that you lied to me about saying that I was pretty and that you couldn't stop thinking about me? What exactly do you need to talk to me about Jesse?"
"Us."
"What about US do we need to talk about?"
"I just hope that we could forget everything that's happened the past two days. I mean, the parts where I was a jerk and everything. I was out of line. I shouldn't have treated you the way I did."
* 20 Minutes Later *
Jesse left and once he was out of sight, Matt who was standing nearby, appeared just as she was about to close the door. The look on Lori's face was priceless; she was so shocked.
"Matt? What are you doing here?" She asked.
"I couldn't sleep. I- I just had to see you."
"How come you couldn't sleep?"
He stared into her eyes and said, "I was thinkin' 'bout you."
She opened the door more and led him inside, shutting the door behind him. He put his arms around her waist and held her so tight. She turned around and looked at him. "What exactly about me were you thinking?"
"How much I wanna be wit you."
"You want to be with me?" She looked at him as if he had just lost his mind.
"Are you askin' me out?" He tried hard not to crack a smile.
She frowned. "Matt, I- I'm sorry, but I- I have a boyfriend. I'm g- going out with Jesse." Haha. Just kidding!!, she thought to herself.
Matt just looked at her. "Are you kiddin' me? You're going out with Jesse?"
"We made up when he came over and he asked me out and I said yes. I- I'm really sorry Matt." She said.
"B- But I like you so much. Lorr, I wanna be wit you more than anything. I wanna take care of you and love you and hold you and kiss you and----I really like you a lot. Lorr, I love you."
Lori looked at him and he looked like he was about ready to lose it.
"Why do you wanna go out with Jesse anyway? He treated you like shit." Matt went on. "I'll treat you like a princess...the way you should be treated. I'll always be there for you no matter what. I'll love you unconditionally."
"Matt...." Her voice trailed off. "There's something you should know."
He frowned. "And what's that? You and Jesse are gonna get married, have tons of kids and live happily ever after?"
"As great as that sounds, no. I was just going to say that I'm not into Jesse...and I was just....maybe if you were that guy...I'd love that idea of getting married, having tons of kids and living happily ever after."
He looked up from the floor and eyed her. "Are you saying that you're not going out with Jesse?"
"He's a jerk. Why would I wanna go out with him?"
Matt grinned. "Will you go out with me?"
Lori shrugged her shoulders. "I dunno."
"You won't say no though, right?"
She smiled and backed away from him. "Matt......"
He leaned in and surprising her, he passionately kissed her and started exploring her body with his hands. She backed away from him and said, "Matt...."
He bit his bottom lip. "I'm sorry. I just----"
"Will you spend the night with me?"
"Are you serious?"
"Yeah."
