The Dwarf Hotot was originally bred from the Hotot, also originating in Germany. The Dwarf Hotot was bred almost silmultaneously by two individual breeders in the 1970s. It was later accepted by the ARBA in 1983.. The Dwarf Hotot is, insanely enough, actually a black rabbit. In its DNA, there lies a "bleaching" gene, which turns all the hair in its fur white except the hairs around the eyes. These markings are called eyebands Dwarf Hotots are very playful, energized rabbits that could entertain themselves for hours with toys. They are also very receptive to humans - in fact, there have been cases that, when a person opens this bunny's cage, the rabbit is so eager to see the person that they fall out! |
