Stories & Writing IdeasIf the Dinosaurs Came Back
by Miss Hendry's class
Miss Hendry's class read the story "If The Dinosaurs Came Back" by Bernard Waber. This is how some of her students think the dinosaurs could help us.
If the dinosaurs came back they could get cats out of trees. If the dinosaurs came back we wouldn't have to rake leaves. If the dinosaurs came back they could help sick people go to the hospital. If the dinosaurs came back they could help me hang up the banner.
If I were a leprechaun...
by Mrs. Kaye's class
If I were the size of a leprechaun I would trick people because I will put fake gold into their bucket. Then I would put candy into their wallet. The candy would look like the gold but it is candy. If I were the size of a leprechaun I would laugh at people and trick people when they play basketball. I will hide the ball in a cat box. by Leedrue
Books, Oh Books!
by Ronny
My books! Our books!
Who loves books?
Do you love books?
Because we all love books.
It's time to read.
It's fun to read, my friends!

The Backyard Camping Trip
by Mrs. Laskowski's class
One Saturday last summer Brian and his sister, Cindy, decided to go camping in the woods. His sister Cindy was a sensitive, pretty 11 year old girl. Their parents gave them permission to set up a tent in their backyard which was wooded. They wouldn't allow the children to camp alone in the woods.
Around 6:00 pm, Brian and Cindy set up the tent and gathered wood to build a small campfire. They cooked hot dogs and toasted marshmallows over the fire. After telling some scary stories, they decided to go to sleep in the tent.
Around midnight, they were awakened by a strange noise. They were especially frightened because they had told scary stories beforebedtime. The children peeked out of the tent and shined a flashlight into the trees where the noise was coming from.
To their relief, the noise was coming from a skunk eating the left over hot dogs. The skunk became scared and sprayed the children. They ran screaming and crying into the house. Their screaming woke up their parents.
Their mom asked, "What happened?"
Their dad asked, "What's that horrible smell?"
The children explained that they had gotten sprayed by a skunk.
Their parents yelled, "Go take a bath!"
Brian and Cindy took a bath in tomato juice. They decided that was the end of their camping trip for the night and slept inside.
