Featured Teacher
Mrs. Paone

Mrs. Paone is this month's featured teacher.  She will be retiring from teaching this year and we will miss her very much.  Michelle interviewed Mrs. Paone.
Michelle: Why did you want to become a reading teacher?

Mrs. Paone: I taught grades 1-2 and 3 for many years and I wanted to help young children learn to read better.  I knew that if children were not good readers by third grade they would have a difficult time in school and would not be able to do all the things they wanted in the future.

Michelle: Why are you retiring?

Mrs. Paone: It was very hard for me to decide to retire.  I love teaching children and I will miss them and my teacher friends at school.  I want to have time to travel around the world and see many things.  I feel like I have many other things to do in my life yet and I want to figure out what the next chapter of my life will be like.

Michelle: What are you going to do now?

Mrs. Paone: I want to travel since I have not seen much of the world yet.  I want to write children's books, which is something I have always wanted to do.  I want to spend some time in California with my daughter, Nina, because I miss her very much.

Michelle: Hw many years have you been teaching?

Mrs. Paone: I have been teaching for 37 years.  I have been teaching in Bound Brook for 30 years.
