My wish for you is to have the thought process start towards God's saving grace.

Salvation is an on-going process: "To us who are being saved, is the power of God" (1 Corinthians 1:18.The original text of this passage in Greek has present-tense ῳ (being saved).I like the KJV as a starting place adding the study of the original Greek and Hebrew to get more meaning.

I believe that God saves us as individuals and deals with us according to our own personal character, needs and desires. I believe that a persons salvation experience will not be exactly like another's. The one thing I believe is the same is birth brought on by the conviction of the Holy Spirit.
An important thing you can do is pray that God open up you heart and understanding. Talk to God in prayer."And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive." (Matthew 21:22)
"Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God." (Philippians 4:6)

Another thing is to read for understanding of God's purpose for you. His plan. There is a lot to study in the bible."Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." (2 Timothy 2:15)

May this prayer start you - A Prayer of Salvation:

Heavenly Father, I see and admit that I am a sinner.I need forgiveness. I turn away from my sins. I confess with my mouth and believe in my heart that Jesus is Lord. I invite Christ to come into my heart and life as my personal Saviour.I believe that Jesus lived, died and was raised from the dead for me. I receive my salvation and am an heir to the promises of salvation. Lord, thank You for saving me this day. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen!

I believe One day you will begin to see changes in your life.
You will start to see changes in your habits. Look for a church that gives you information of God's truth.
