These are some of my most recent works.  I have a few modifications to make on the animals to improve them.  I'll publish the changes as soon as I can.  I have decided to do animal portraiture for my Senior Project (art school's version of a Senior Thesis).  I enjoy painting animals, I'm most comfortable painting animals and, if I do say so myself, I think I'm fairly decent at it.  I've only just begun, so watch out world... animal painter Vicky is coming your way!

Also, as you can see, I'm fairly good with people portraits.  I'm great with the face, but start adding a body and forget it.  I really can't draw figures very well.  The first figure study of Donna was a two day drawing.  I had plenty of time to do it and it originally started as my thumbnail sketch - a preliminary sketch to a bigger one I'd intended to draw - but before I realized it, I really liked what I had going so, I went with it.  It's actually only about 4"x2" and in the corner of my sketchbook.  After the first one came out so well, I tried the second one on a full scale.  It is about 6"x8" or so.  I'm very pleased with both of them.  The second one does look almost exactly like Donna.  Maybe I can also be a people portraitist (is that a word?), too.  I like detail with personality.
