Snowball first came to me during a time when I was opening myself up to the craft intentionally. I was having a problem with my first "teacher" not wanting to let go. I was reflecting on the situation when he came over my shoulder and said "First Strike". It startled me, but he morphed himself to a smaller; comic style appearance! He looked so silly all I could do was laugh! From then on I knew that if I saw him as I first did; that the problem I was facing was a serious one. But if I saw him in the comic style; that he wanted me to relaxe and have fun.
Snowball is a white dragon, and as his name implies, he loves the snow, and starting snowball fights. He also loves to go singing and dancing. He just loves to party! When summer rolled around and I made a trip to Cedar Point, he started building his "house"; only it was underground. He took great pains to build a "Cedar Point" there as his funland! He has a stream running through the place, and it tasted like the Blue Dew that I used to drink; until I showed him what a Strawberry Margaretta tasted like! He just loves them! I had to show him how to rim the stream with salt so that he got the full effect. There have been times that he would say "Mom, come have some fun with me!", and be laying in the stream drinking his fill!
I have been privilaged to meet a lot of other dragons. Elliot, Rose, and some of the elders, I was even asked to help keep track of the breedings; as to help keep the line going. Snowball and Eliott have mated several times, most without my permission. Most of the offspring have found others to help. Some of them help others to understand the path they are on, others to show them how to stay young at heart, and not to forget how to see through the eyes of a child. Most are just waiting for humans to realize that we are not byproducts of this earth, that we are the wardens and that it is up to us to stop distroying it. They have knowlegde from a milliumium that they would share, and do with those that chose to acknowledge them. They don't ask for much; just respect and friendship. But they offer so much in return for such honesty. I have gone to sleep with my dragons knowing that I could not be in a safer place, or to know that IF I needed protection I have only to ask. And that counsel may come in riddle form; but they want to make sure that I have the ability to deal with it when I need to. They do like to "push" every now and then; to make sure that I am not being compacient! But it is so well worth it. |
