| Animal totems can be broken down into two basic groups; preditors and prey. From these two you will notice that you have a balance, or you need to call on a different kind of animal to bring balance into your life. Totems can also be broken down into a few different sub-groups as well; Mammal, Bird, Reptile, and Metaphysical. Even within these groups you will find balance. If you are drawn to an animal; or a certain animal keeps showing up around you, you need to figure out what it is trying to tell you. Is there an animal that you like to collect? Nicknacks or pictures? Or if a movie comes on about them that you just have to watch? Most likely it is a Totem for you. Is there an animal that repulses you, one that you have a fear off? This would be a shadow totem. They also have things to teach you; lessons that you are afraid to face. Or have you had and encounter with an animal out in the wild? Something that just seemed just to real or unreal?That was a totem trying to get your attention. Totems types can be broken down into three different phases as well; Lesson totems, those to teach you a single type of lesson. Life totems; those that are with you for this life, to help you deal with your life lessons. And Soul Totems, those that follow you through each life, ones that are apart of your soul path.
