| This is another example of me writing a poem thingy before the actual story. Now I have to come up with a clever way for the story to fit in. The last few paragraphs on this story are pretty blah and I try too hard to write something when it would be better left unwritten until I could come up with something worthwhile, but sometimes I have to write something even if it is complete crap. Anyway, I was thinking of ending it with their child being the only one living and them either dying or dying and going off to some mystical far-off land. Im not really sure how to have them both live with only one heartbeat. Maybe I could write a sequel to the poem and have Griffin or Annee lose their heart and go all dark!magi or something and then the second part of the book comes in and its about a reversal of the first part. Actually, that sounds kinda cool. So, if Im gonna reverse the first part, the second part has to start with one surviving and then somehow bringing the second back and separating the two worlds and closing the entrance forever between the two worlds and finally hope. Something like: One lives (obviously) Resurrects the lost (or dead or dying) Two worlds torn apart, a struggle to survive Two worlds separate, a struggle to bear Hope to live. Hope to endure. Hope to love. Yeah, I know. It needs a lot of work, but its a start. Rome wasnt built in a day, although the original poem was written in a second. Its always harder to follow up on perfection like, I know. Thats not perfection or anything. Just another high schoolish sounding poem, but its a cool poem, still. Get over it. Also, if the names sound (somewhat) familiar, its because they are. Remember the Daniel/Annie romance? Yeah, I love these two characters so much that I wanted to write a non-fantasy romance about them. I was also thinking of maybe making these two crazy kids into a young adult book seriessorta like the Harry Potter, but not. See, I love the concept behind Harry Potter and I love the universe of Harry Potter and I want to write childrens books a little bit, but I dont have any good ideas for a childrens universe that isnt similar to Harry Potters. I also dont want to make it too realistically magical because then that would piss off all the Christians. So, Im stuck with this desire to write a childrens series with no place to put them. If I start Griffin and Annee out as young enough children and give them some adventures growing up and maybe through in a few more beloved characters, then I could have things good. Maybe I could keep Gwendolyn alive and have someone come over with Annee from her world and maybe have their worlds cross over a lot more. The more I think on it, the more I like the idea. I just have to make sure there arent 3 of them because if there are, then itd be totally like Harry, Ron, and Hermione (sp?). Ooo, maybe I could make it like Buffy, Willow, and Xander!! Have Griffin be Xander, Annee be Willow, and some other character be like Buffy. That would be different enough, right? Because Annee is supposed to be a very powerful character even though Griffin takes care of her. But, I dont want the Buffy character overshadowing Griffin and Annee. Maybe a Tara- or Anya- or Dawn- like character? Like one of Annees siblings? By gum, I think I got it! Ill just have to start creating in my head their stories and new identities. From here forth, I shall create a new document for my new childrens/young adult/adult series. I was thinking of turning this story into a children's book series like Harry Potter meets Buffy the Vampire Slayer. My mom had this to say about this story: I really liked this character sketch/short story. I especially liked the relationship between Griffin and Gwendolyn. I would have liked to have read more about the area and time they lived in. What was the town like? Was Gwendolyn's home in town or outside? What kinds of crops were grown? What kinds of herbs did Gwendolyn grow/gather/use? And I assume this was before the 20th century because the men were riding horses, but that covers a lot of history a lot of places around the world. Where and when does this story take place? I'm intrigued and would like to know more! I think you would be a great kids' story teller. You have an exciting sense of wonderment and thrill of imagination that can captivate a young reader. Like 12-18 or so. |
