| Just when I think that Ive grown up a bit and gotten over those youthful crazes, it all came back to me at the Lisa Loeb concert last night. I definitely wouldnt say Im her number one fan because thats Jammers position, and Im not about to argue with him. Even Annie Lin is mentioned in Lisas new album, and I think she came on board with the Loebers in #lisaloeb later than I did. But regardless of my level of being a fan, I was still excited to see her in concert again AND I finally met her after I became a fan when Stay came out in 1994! She only played about 6 or so songs, since she split the concert time with two other Jewish performers. (She performed as part of a Jewish Educational Series for Young Professionals.) She was as cute, witty, and charming as she was in other concerts. She played Taffy as soon as someone yelled it out from the first row (we were in the third), and she joked about being professional with the crowd. Prior to the concert, I posted on her web fan forum in the Requests section, asking her to play Stay, When all the stars were falling, and Garden of Delights, all songs from her Tails album. For her second to last song, she played Stay, and mentioned that it was a request. Yay!! That was me!! She mentioned wanting to play three more songs total but was getting the signal to only play two moremy Stay request and then ended with I do. After the concert, we went out and I lined up to get her to sign a CD. I was kind of reluctant to meet her because it kind of ruins my whole image of herwill she be as nice as people say? Will my devotion to her music be tainted after Lisa Loeb becomes a real person to me? But Matt persuaded me to and I got in line. When it was my turn, I asked if she got the Stay request off the web site. She said, Yeah, and I wanted to play When all the stars were falling, but I could only play two more songs. Ill play it next time! She asked for my name to sign the CD and when I told her, she said, I wasnt sure if that was your name or just your Internet nickname, so I didnt want to mention it up there. Darnoh well. On the site, I had also mentioned going with Matt, who wasnt too familiar with her music and that I hoped hed be a fan after. Lisa saw him with me and asked him how he liked the concert. He had no idea I had posted this, so he just told her he enjoyed it. Im kicking myself for not bringing a camera, because I would have been able to take pictures in the concert AND afterwards WITH her. aarrrggghh. Oh well, but I remind myself that she is just a singer and pictures with her arent too important. Yeah, itd be nice, but thats okay. I can do without. And knowing my luck with pictures with celebs (i.e. Benjamin Bratt), the pics would probably turn out horrible. heheh Now Im starting to debate whether or not I should transport that 5x5 corkboard Lisa painting down to LA for my new apartmentnah |
