The Crucifixion
Matthew 27, Mark 15, Luke 23, John 19.
The soldiers of the governor took Jesus away. They made crown of throwns and placed it on his head, pushing it down hard onto his head. They put a branch in his hand and they made fun of  him by kneeling before him and saying: " Hail, bow down to him, for he is King of the Jews!"
They spit on him and struck him. They took the branch from him and struck him with it. Then they led him away to Golgotha, called the Place of the Skull, to be crucified.(killed)
A heavy wooden cross was prepared, which Jesus was to be placed.
On the way they got a man coming in from the country- Simon of Cyrene. They gave the cross to him to carry, and he walked behind Jesus.
Folowing them was a lot of people, among them women who cry and were sad.
Jesus turned to them and said: "Daughters of Jerusalem, do not cry for me, but for yourselves and your children. The days will come when you will wish the moutians to fall on you and the hills to cover you. If they will do this thing, what will they not do?"
Two others were led away also, criminals to be put to death.
When they reached Golgotha, Jesus was killed there, and the two criminals also: one to the right of Jesus and one to his left.
Jesus said : "Father forgive them, for they know not what they do."
After they had crucified him, the soldiers took his garments from him, tore them  into peices among themselves. They took his robe also, and they said: "It has no seams. Let us draw lots for it and not tear it. Whoever wins shall have the robe to keep."
Then the soldiers sat down to keep watch over him. Above his head was a sign which Pilate had made. It said: "King of the Jews."
Near the cross of Jesus was Mary, his mother. Some of them that followed her there were Mary Magdalene, Mary the wife of Cleophas, Mary the mother of James and John the fishermen.
Jesus, sae his mother there, with a disciple whom he loved, called to her : " Woman, behold your son!"
To the disciple he said: " Behold your mother!" Then the disciple took her to his own home.
Many people stayed there to make fun of Jesus on the cross, shouting at him and calling:  "If you are truley the Son of God, come down from there. You saved others, can you not save yourself? If you are the King of Jews, come down, and we will belive yoou. You trusted God; where is He now?"
One of the criminals crucified with him mocked him in the same way, saying:  " If you are the Christ, save yourself and save us."
Then the other one said: "We are here because we deserve it, but you are innocent. Lord remember me when you enter the kingdom of God."
From noon until three in the afternoon the land was covered with darkness.
Then Jesus was caled with a loud voice: " My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"
