| The true test of anyone's faith is to know and embrace the Lord, in and through all the sufferings, joys, sicknesses, triumphs, good fortunes, and deprivities that overcome all our lives at some time or another...Sometime for some, and for sometime for others. Though many heart bludgeoning times have visited our family, we have managed to rally together and fill in the voids left my sudden deaths, social injustices, murders, poverty and....I don't think I need to go on. We all know what they were. But here we are......... in the year 2001. As the Celie character in the epic movie "The Color Purple" yelled out to her captor/ husband as she was riding away free... "I may be poor,black, yes, I might even be ugly...but thank God, I'm HERE, yes I'm HERE. It is our faith that hath made us, and our faith that will saved us. The Love of God is our legacy passed down by the Rev.Augustus Dixon, as he faced the genocide noose of southern hate mongrels; along with the faith and love of his young wife Lula Dixon, who then fled the South with only her faith to save her, to the promise of a safe haven in the northern state...."END OF THE LINE"...last stop of the Illinois Central Railroad in the early 1920's---Chicago, Illinois, with her 6 young children Rebecca, Moses, Leanna, James, Ceceila, and Alonzo. The eldest, Rebecca, my grandmother. God has been our constant, his love never wavering, and through his son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit, we have triumphed over the wiles of Satan, wearing always the full armor of God.
