| Well life seems to be moving along like normal. I'm not all that sure what to do with myself. All my time off I seem to spend in my room doing nothing, I can't even seem to get into my writing anymore. Of the few things I thought would always be constant, even my writing seems to be suffering, I don't know what's wrong with me, maybe I'm just going through a "blue day". That must be it, because for some reason that is beyond me, I feel like bursting into tears at the slightest provocation. I don't know, I'm just overly emotional today. Now for something completely different...... I went to go see Beauty and the Beast the Broadway Show a few weeks ago. I can't explain how wonderful it was. But I must say, there were a few times that the lead's (Bell) voice got on my nerves; it was just a little too high pitched for me. I'm probably too attached to the Disney animated version to be a good critic. But the lights and the music was amazing. The guy that plays Lefou was very good; he did the physical comedy wonderfully. I loved watching him take all his falls and tumbles, constantly getting hit by Gaston. I also enjoyed watching and listening to the woman who played Madame de la Grand Bouche (the dresser/closet), she had me howling with laughter, I loved it! On the most recent Saturday I took Lauren out and we went and saw Tuck Everlasting...oh dear! Jonathan Jackson has only gotten better looking with time, and his voice, dear me, am I swooning? Okay enough of my silliness. I enjoyed the movie, and I will admit that the wonderful shot of Jonathan in leather,on a motorcycle (which I saw on a preview) did influence me a bit in going to see it. I may have gone just to see a very good looking guy play a very romantic part, but my expectations were exceeded. I was moved to the point where I almost cried when Scott Bairstow (who plays Miles) told the story of his wife and kids, his emotion was so convincing and I think that scene really pulled his character together for me. I remember reading the book in Jr High so I knew the story behind is bitterness, but it wasn't until I saw the actor relive the trauma that I had sympathy for her and really began to like him. Some of the best scenes I think were ones without any diolague, where the actor had to truly act or it would have been totally dead. The first one just had me cracking up it was so well done and showed the cocky nature of the boys, that would be the scene outside the jail, when both Bairstow and Jackson were in those capes; that was classic! The second was at the end of the movie when Jackson comes into the clearing with the big oak tree. The look of utter devastation and pain on his face was wonderful, you could really get a sense of what he had lost and what it was to be like him. Okay well this little update page seems to be more about reviews than anything else so I'll leave you now with just this one quote from Tuck Everlasting "Winnie Foster, I'll love you till the day I die!" --Jessie Tuck |
