Butterfly

This was an introduction class for
Helen Banes' needlweaving technique,
of which she co-authored a book,
"Beads and Threads", with Diane Fitgerald.
The pattern and class were by
Jean Trammell.
DMCpearl cotton, Caron's Watercolor (cotton overdye),
bicones, faceted rondels, rice beads.

Badlands

A short time later Ihad the opportunity to take
a two-day workshop with Helen Banes herself!
This is the resulting necklace., using a pattern
from the book. The closure is adjustable.
DMC pearl cotton, Caron Watercolor,
copper leaves, a variet of Czeck glass beads

Llama-rama

Iloved this technique and just had to
make a few more. This one was for me
(my own design), but Ialso made a similar
one, in aquas and creams, for my sister.
Many people ask me if it is for sale, but never
ask a price when Itell them how many hours
were required to make it: about thirty, Ithink.
DMC pearl cotton, Caron Watercolor,
Peruvian clay and brass beads
I have one more original design still 'on
the pins,' and two color schemes planned.
So many projects, so little time!
See more and learn about this
this technique at Needleweaver's Studio!
