Crystal Waves

This fun little design
is generously shared by

variety of color-lined 11s & 6s

Spiral Ropes

There are serveral set of instructions
for this spiral, both on the net,
and printed in books or magazines;
I began with Anne Hawley's. Ilove these as
bracelets for a quick gift, made with 15s.
(full view (top) / close up (bottom))
11 and/or 15 seed beads

Peyote Spirals

By varying the size and/or number
of beads while doing tubular peyote,
completely different results are achieved.
Top: Laura Breisacher's "Mermaid"
necklace (kits available from
Beady Eyed Women) made with my
beads, thus the "Stormy" look, and
attached to an herringbone necklace.
6s, 8s, 11s, 13s seed bead & Delicas, triangles, cubes
Bottom: Virgina Blakelock and
Carol Perrenoud call this scultural sprial
"Cellini Spiral" (see October 2000, Bead &
Button magazine). My piece was for a
correspondence course, sponsored by
The Embroiderer's Guild of American, Inc.,
by Margaret Fleming. Margaret states, "[it]
is constructed in the same way the Zulus
[of Africa] bead their beautiful necklaces."
8s, 11s, Delicas

Knitted Bead Purse-Pendants

Once I finally found the 0000 needles,
I just couldn't stop making these bags!
Top: This was my virgin bag, knitted on size
one needles with Caron's Wildlflower thread.
The weight of the beads on this soft,
fine thread on larger needles made this my
"Saggy-baggy," but I love it best of all!
It's a little worn and scruffy; no matter.
Bottom: A special gift for my very special
cousin, whether she's an 1860's Lady,
or steppin' out in the 21st century.
Over 10,000 black tri-cut 13s on silk thread.
One week to knit; one week for the finishing.

Beaded Bottles

Every time Isee a bottle, Iimagine
how it might look embellished with beads!
Most of mine are still in progress.
Top: A 10ml ginseng extract bottle
was a good size for a first try
at my swirl design.
Delicas; flat-round and tubular peyote
Bottom: Ever get those tiny samples
of perfume? That's where I got this
bottle; it is peyoted with tiny beads (15s).
I haven't quite decided how to finish it.
Here's where I got started:
"Bead A Bottle" by Emily Hackbarth

Jewelry

Top: A gift for my son's (now ex-)
girlfriend using both their birthstones
(peridot & topaz), pearls and sterling wire.
Bottom: A multi-strand necklace made
following Diane Fitgerald's instructions
in the December 1994 (#6) issue of
Bead & Button magazine
11 seed, various glass & metal

Vessels

Another piece for Margaret Fleming's
correspondence course from EGA
-- see 'Peyote Spirals' above, (bottom)
and 'Knot Simply Beaded' next gallery) --
however, unlike in her instructions
it is not beaded around anything
but is free-standing.

11 & 6 matte and color-lined seed
circular flat and tubular brick stitch
