| This is Hebogydd (Hee-bo-guth) and his falcon Cynddaredd (Coon-thar-eth). Hebogydd is Princess's half-brother, and Princess brings him to the group to try to make up for the lost (wo)manpower of Queenie, Spaz and Empress, not to mention the manpower of the late Crapty. Hebogydd, unlike his half-sister, is a pure-blood faery, so he appears only as a shadow in the Younglands (the part of Earth humans inhabit). So though Princess and her shadow can trade places, Hebogydd is "invisible" all the time - solid, of course, but "invisible". He therefore makes an excellent spy. Cyndaredd, however, is substance in both worlds, and he makes an excellent diversion - swooping, tearing and screaming - enough to drive any bad guy insane! Eventually Hebogydd and Empress fall in love and marry, and when they do they both become able to move between Shadow and the Younglands, "visible" in both. (C) Charlotte May 2000 |

| This picture shows Hebogydd (Princess's brother) and Empress, at their handfast (wedding) ceremony, jumping the fire. They are married in the doorway between Shadow and the Younglands (the part of Earth humans inhabit). At first Empress does not want to get involved with Hebogydd, because of her experience with Tommy, but she cannot fight against her heart or the heavens, and she allows herself to love him. Though Hebogydd is only a shadow in the Younglands, once they marry he is substance in both worlds, and similarly, Empress has substance in Shadow, though the other Cool Chicks don't. Their handfasting begins to open the doors between Shadow and the Younglands, and is also the beginning of the end of the Cool Chicks (because they are no longer needed, not because of some catastrophe or the like).
