| This is Rustie. She is a high school student when she first joins, and is never in active duty. She is a VERY talented hacker, and she discovers the Cool Chicks' secrets... who they are, where they live, and how to get around their security. In order to protect themselves, they essentially HAVE to let her join. She lends her skills to Figmeister to help him on the technical side. Because she joins after Crapty's death, she becomes the new master planner. She eventually falls for Merlyn, who joins shortly after her. Unfortunately, he doesn't reciprocate. At first she is very bitter about this, and even though he is long gone, she eventually has to leave the Cool Chicks because she can't get over him. | This is Merlyn. He, like Rustie, is in high school, and as such is not in active duty. He is a chem whiz, and becomes essential to the Cool Chicks. He is equally capable at creating chemical weapons and chemical helpers. He is fairly shy, but is all business when the pressure's on. His civilian name is Mark, but he prefers the nickname given him by Spaz. Unlike Rustie, Mark doesn't stick around with the Cool Chicks endlessly. He goes to college and becomes a chemical engineer. He falls for a faery during Empress and Hebogydd's handfasting, and eventually marries her. (C) Charlotte May, 1999 |
