Dragons and Other Creatures
I have been interested in so-called mythical creatures since I regaled my fellow students on the Southside Elementary playground with serial stories about flying horses and other enchanted animals. I have an especially soft spot for dragons, those poor misunderstood beasties. From the regal, tea-sipping philosopher dragons of ancient China to the CGI beasties of our movie screens, the draconis fascinates me. Let's face it, Smaug was one of the more interesting characters in The Hobbit; one can only have so many furry-footed, elven, or dwarvish folk about, but a dragon...!
Other creatures have interested me a long time, too. I collected unicorn paraphenalia long before it was cool, when it was downright hard to find.

Click the thumbnail for a full-size coloring page of a dragon in flight, from the good folks at Dover Publishing. It's from a book of dragon "stained glass" pictures. To get the stained glass effect for your own picture, you can print it on a transparency, or try the "cheap-skate" method: after coloring, wipe the back of the paper with a paper towel dampened with baby oil.
