Dear Diary,
Today was a great day. My little girl loves to eat with her hands and will barely allow anyone to feed her. She is eight months old and refuses usually to eat any baby food at all. Today I stripped her down to a diaper and gave her some baby food for toddlers that is kind of like Spagghettios. She had a great time trying to eat it with her hands. I gave her a spoon and she tried with that also. Finally she let me feed her with the spoon. I would scoop the stuff up and then let her grab the spoon and together we would put it in her mouth. I think it is good to let her try to learn to do things herself and I like her independent spirit in this case. She will have to learn sooner or later how to do things herself anyways. After she was done she got a nice bath. She is so good at sitting up now. Just a few weeks ago she would topple over, now she can steady herself in the big bathtub. I am so happy.
Yesterday at around four in the morning my little boy actually latched on without the nipple shield. This is really great. I was really getting sick of trying to find the stupid thing everytime he was hungry. I only have one and I lose everything. I really am enjoying breastfeeding. It is so much easier than bottle feeding. I can't lose my breasts or the baby. The only thing I don't enjoy is the leaking. Everything I wear gets soaked. I would make a great cow.
Tonight I watched Gilmore Girls and One Tree Hill. Everytime since I had Isaac when I watch these shows I am reminded of the night I was in labor. Three weeks ago I watched these shows while in labor. I really like both of them. I am so glad this isn't three weeks ago what a horrible night and day. At least during the time I was watching these shows I wasn't in the worst pains that I would have. I am so glad that Isaac is here now. He is such a beautiful baby. He has such a serious look most of the time. I kind of think he will be able to do the strange looks with his eyes like Nathaniel. Nathaniel can hold one eye looking straight ahead and move the other one all around.
Isaac is summoning me I have to go now. I am now back I had to feed him and pump the other side since it was leaking all over his pants.
Earlier today my mother called me to have me use the credit card to pay for some gas that she needed. I guess while she was away from her land she had a man looking at her camper to fix it. When she got back there were fire trucks all over the place. From what she was told the man that was supposed to fix the camper accidently started it on fire. He checked the first two burners and then thought the next one would be fine so he turned it on and fire shot out and started the curtains on fire and then shot back at him and burned him. He told my mother that if she had, had water he would have tried to put out the fire. She says that there was water in the camper. The man had also hooked his truck up to the camper so he had jumped out and quickly unhooked his truck. He yelled "Fire, Fire". A man that my mother had sent out to look at her trees heard him and came. He had a cell phone and called the Fire Dept. Unfortunately the driveway that my mother's brother paid for with her inheritance still hasn't been completed and it has been at least over a year. The part that is "finished" is already falling apart. The firetruck couldn't get in and got stuck. Everything that my mother had was burned up. All her important papers, her clothes, food, blankets, glasses everything. At least she still has her dogs and her Bible. I wish that she would take this as a sign and get off the land. We are all so worried that some hunter is going to "accidently" shoot her. She was going to sleep in her car on the property tonight. It must be so cold. I hope the dogs cuddle close. She said she couldn't drive anywhere far because of not having her glasses. I wish I had thought to put her up in a hotel. |
