The Feather and the Stone
He sat in a wheelchair,
a stately, proud man,
and with a voice that sounded so bold.
He begged me to take His burden from Him,
He reached out and God touched my soul.
I walked over to see,
what made Him so tired.
From a distance, I just couldn’t see.
A tiny piece of paper, He held out to me,
and with a voice that was more than a plea.
He said He had carried His burden all day,
so tired... He begged me to take.
I reached out and took His burden away,
He was so grateful, I felt like a saint.
What to me was a feather,
to Him was a stone.
But O’... such a blessing I want you to know.
I’ll always remember, what He gave to me.
When He reached out,
and God touched my soul.
what we do for each other we’ve done for Him
the little red piece of paper was about this big
I only wish I could do it again!

God Sees
Theres times when I feel all alone in this world
When the devil gets a good hold on me
He slings me around like a wind in a whirl
but God sees that I land on my knees
Down on my knees
Down on my knees
God sees me down on my knees
He never gives up
His love lifts me up
When He sees me down on my knees
Just when I think that I’ve got a load
one more feather my shoulders can’t bear
The devil shows up... puts a rock in my road
and I’m down...down... down on my knees in prayer
Now I’ve figured it out,
to me there’s no doubt
and I want the whole world to know
When the devil takes hold
a
nd slings you about
theres only one place to go....
Down on your knees...Down on your knees
He never leaves you down on your knees
He never gives up..His love lifts you up
When He sees you down on your knees
With God in control, like the stories of old
the old devil He’ll grab by the tail
He’ll sling him around
like a wind in a whirl
and cast him, slap dab, to hell
God sees, God sees,
God sees you down on your knees
your faiths growing stronger
as the moments grow longer
with God, down on your knees
No, He never gives up
His love lifts you up
When He sees you, down on your knees!

One Icey Breath
A cold front crept in from the west
to play its little games
Above our town it came to rest
and dumped its icey rains
Our lights went out, the t-v,too
there was nothing man could do
But sit around our coal oil lamps
like most folks used to do
We listened as the limbs fell down
with a crackle and a snap
From all around came a sleeting sound
to leave its shiny wrap
As trees leaned down to touch the ground
as if their souls could cry
All we could do was wait and pray
for God to bring His light
God only knows just what it took
to weave this icey sight
But it sounded like His lumberjacks
camped in our woods last night
One humdred years, some trees had grown
to stand so proud and tall
But He showed us with One Icey Breath
HE can cause the proud to fall
It surely was a sight to see
when God brought His precious light
He must have leaned from glory
to wrap us all up tight
If just one thing-I know for sure
through a faith God only sees
It was through grace He chose the oaks
and left our favorite trees...
Its yet to be a sight to see
all the wonders God can do
He gave to me One Icey Breath
with grace to share with you

The Day the Cedars Prayed
Old man winter came along and put us in a freeze
We listened as he blazed a trail
wreaking havoc through the trees
With sleet that hung like tear drops
til all the woods was wrapped
Our wires were sliced with layers of ice
no water from our taps
From the night came eerie, cracking sounds
falling timbers where he pleased
