I love to praise God. When I consider all the wonderful things He has done for me and all mankind. I joyfully lift my voice to express my gratitude and adoration. Truly I can say with the psalmist, "It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High."! (Ps. 92:1)
I love to worship God. What a thrill to acknowledge His majesty and to catch a glimpse of His glory! My heart cries out, "Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name: worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness" (Ps. 29:2).
When we praise God, we recognize and make known the greatness of what he has done. When we worship Him, we exalt Him for Who He is. We may find occasion to praise and give thanks to another human being for some worthwhile achievement, but worship belongs only to God.
Both praise and worship are essential to any successful understanding and relationship with God. True spiritual fulfillment comes only as we invest our lives in continual praise and worship.

Jesus is our source of praise. Because of what He did for us - because of His death on the cross and His resurrection from the grave - we have the opportunity and the ability to receive God's greatest miracle, the New Birth of the human spirit.
The word of faith is very near us. It is in our mouths and in our hearts. (Romans 10:8) If we confess with our lips the Lordship of Jesus while believing in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead to justify us, we can be saved. "For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation" (Rom10:10)
Jesus is our avenue to God. The Apostle Paul advises us to "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him". (Col.3:16,17).
When we become Christ's new creation, we have full access to all God's rich provisions - physical healing, deliverance, help, welfare, safety, preservation, soundness, and prosperity. Isaiah 12:3 declares,"Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation." We can never run out of things to praise God for. |

Praise begins in the spirit of a man and is governed by the will of man. This means one may decide whether or not to praise the Lord. Praise is a choice, not just an expression of emotional feelings. Choosing to praise is to draw closer to God with every fiber of one's being. The whole of man is involved in true and pure praise.
