Lady Izabella was first created in 1998. The site was merely a one page thing with information based upon a role playing character which I played at the time named Lady Izabella. It was an information site where one could view the stats, clothing, weapons, and powers Izabella held. All V:TM legal of course. As time grew onwards I decided that I wanted to post more than just about a character that I role played. I wanted to show my love for things dark and horror releated. The end result was a site containing my own personal poetry, some awards I'd won, links, pictures of me and some images that I found around the net. It was a site filled with things of horror and of poetic beauty.

For 2 years Lady Izabella stayed like that. Frankly the site looked like hell. I was using homestead at the time and in love with the page builder. Then I discovered the joys of html and java. I realised that I could do so much more if I broke away from the page builder's that did everything for you. By making this decision I was in a rut. You see I wasn't sure how to build a page at homestead without using the page builder. So I left the putrid waste of homestead and came here to geocities. I know, this place sux as well but at least I am able to write out my coding and not wait 15 minutes for the damn page to refresh!

The first thing I did was write to everyone that had ever given me an award or put one of their links up on my Free for All links page. I informed them of the move and my new address so that they could keep their own sites updated. I completely tore down the homestead site and transfered everything here to geocities. That took a good long time. The homestead site is still there, to see whats left of it Click Here. Now that I had a fresh new start it was time to begin thinking of new ways to improve the site, a way to get people to keep coming back, a way that would keep the site's loading time at a minimal.

I thought about the things that interested me the most. Now the real problem was, "What was I interested in that others would be too?" And what would my site have that would make it stand out just a little bit more. Then it hit me one night while I was going through a couple vampyre encyclopedia's I have. Sure there are lots of sites out there with information on vampyres but there really aren't that many sites with encyclopedias on them. Thats what I would do to get people to come. I sat down and began to type, now let me tell you typing out that damn encyclopedia took me almost a month and its still not finished! I simply haven't had the time lately to finish it. But hopefully I'll get it done before next year.

After I had the encyclopedia up I began to think of other ways to get people to come check out my site. Everyone loves award, receiving them especially, hell I know I do. So that settled that, I made my own awards not only to make people happy but its a great way to get traffic to your site. Think about it, you give away an award and in exchange you get a link. I -used- to be one of those people that would give every site that applied for one of my awards the one they requested. Then I realised that doing that is not a good idea. For the simple reason that when I get an award I like to think that I deserve it for whatever reason as I'm sure that anyone else is. But lets face it if you give a site an award that deep down you know doesn't deserve it then your only setting low standards for yourself.

Next I decided to not only publish poetry on my site but short stories as well. I love to write, its an obsession for me and I wanted to share my work with those that visited my page. I know that my work is not the best but damn it all I wasn't about to deprive anyone of my talent. LoL!

To wrap this up I'd just like to say that over the past 5 plus years Lady Izabella has become one of my favorite past times. It gives me something to do whenever I have the urge or am just bored out of my skull. The site will continue to grow as we go on. In content as well as in graphic design. There have been a lot of people that have helped me make Lady Izabella what it is today. There are three people that deserve a very big thank you. The Keeper from what was once Morbid Manor helped me in many ways. He aided me in graphic design as well as giving me a nice amount of constructive criticism. To him I owe my deepest thanks. Rick, your a great friend. Keep in touch bro. To Jezebel at Jezebel's Hell I'd like to once again thank you for helping me out with the index page. It wasn't as hard as I first thought and I had you to guide me through the simple steps of getting the html coding right to produce the effect I so desired. Lastly but certainely not least I'd like to thank Scrappy Kat. This girl has helped me in many ways. She was one of the first people to lay eyes on Lady Izabella back in the good old days when this site was only 4 pages long and didn't hold as much content. Her high spirits kept me in a cheerful mood and always striving to make the site bigger and better. Her compliments gave me confidence in myself as a webmistress. She also helped me to create the new design that I plan on putting into effect for the new year.

In all I'd like to think that this is the begining of something great. Something that I created that I can share with anyone and everyone that has a twisted little mind like my own. You all know who you are. Lady Izabella will continue to grow in the months and years to come. Be sure to keep checking back with us for these updates. Remember to embrace the inner darkness that cries for a release deep within your soul...
