Faith, and strength got me through it
Hope and love prevailed
Courage, for a day sure to arrive
"I love you" through e-mails
Listening to your voice each night
Awaiting every call
Waiting for some signal
That we've gone through it all
My signal finally came to me
When you called me from Italy
Closer to home......and then the wait
For the bus to come roaring through the gate
I stood there waiting for you to see
All the things I had to be
Strong, and loving, weak, with fears
But nonetheless, so filled with tears
I could not imagine what you would say
Seeing me, after the months away
Holding me, loving me, smiling wide
But then I see you and only cried
The shock of you being back home with me
Has not yet sunk in, but is pleasant to see
The warmth in my heart, the love that I feel
Is so enormous but true, and very much real
Thank you my love, my husband, my friend
For giving me strength...right to the end
