"My Lord," Lucius said, greatly daring, "I do not understand."
"Don't you?" Voldemort stepped over the body of the Death Eater (whose name no longer mattered,) gesturing to a lesser minion to dispose of it. "No...no, I suppose you wouldn't."
Encouraged by this mild response, Lucius elaborated, "I had thought you would be pleased at the news of Podmore's death."
"So I should have, had one of my own not been the instrument thereof. Podmore's Patronus was an albatross."
"My Lord?"
"I've seen far too much of Life-In-Death already." Voldemort sighed at Malfoy's blank look. "Never mind..."
