"Of course you are," he mumbled, eyes downcast, twisting a bit of parchment into spiral shreds.
"We'll continue the research, of course. There's no telling what advances might be made, or what new information you yourself may uncover--"
"Thank you, Headmaster. But if it's all the same to you, I believe we should discontinue that project, and focus our attention on more productive endeavors." As they should have done from the beginning.
Dumbledore sighed. "As you wish..."
Severus left it to Dumbledore to floo Lupin, and close down the inquiry into possible means of removing the Morsmordre.
