~¤The Elven Kingdom¤~

The Elven Kingdom is not of this world, yet at the same time it is. It is known under many different names, ranging from Shannara to Imladris, though in these recent times it is more widely known as Enilon or simply the Kingdom of the Elves.

The elves were not always separated from the humans. For a long time, elves, fairies, humans, dwarves, trolls, orcs, nymphs, dryads and all of the other creatures lived in peace. About two millennia ago, however, Man came into power and banished the other races. The elves joined forces with the fairies, nymphs and dryads, and formed the world of Faery that was joined yet separate from this world. There were Gates between the worlds in only a few places. The most popular of these was Avalon.
The trolls, dwarves and orcs also joined forces, but they mysteriously disappeared and it is unknown to us where they have been ever since.
This separation caused the dominance of Man and the spawning of the modern human religions.

For centuries, we creatures of Faery lived alone, afraid to enter the human world because of the persecution and making little contact with each other. Then, we of the elves discovered rich sources of magic and started dominating Faery along with the fairies. The nymphs and dryads kept to themselves.

Our kingdom grew rich and spread far. Ruins of the past were rebuilt into thriving cities, forming the elven kingdom such as is known today.

Modern Enilon is around the size of modern China in the human world. It is separated into three major regions: Ayrienne, Vasilieu and Charanthreau. Ayrienne is the largest, housing most of the cities and the population. The capital is New Arborlon. This is where the royal family lives.
The elves are headed by a monarch, and, as I mentioned before, I am the future queen. My father, Wil Ohmsford-Shannara, is currently king of the elves and the ruler of our kingdom. He is assisted by my mother, Queen Amberle Elessedil. I am their only child and thus the rightful heir to the throne.

New Arborlon is also the residence of the Elven High Council. The monarch is free to make the decisions but approval by the Council is always needed. Most members of the Council are old but very wise, and the entire kingdom knows that in their hands, we are all safe.

Other major cities in Ayrienne include Dunphae, which is also a major military base, Wesache and Ilirian. However, the cities are not the main attractions of this region. The most popular place to visit is the Saint Anctus Monestary, where I was schooled among the scholars from when I could speak until I reached the age of ten.
The other major attraction is the MoonShadow Garden, my realm. We elves worship this Garden. It is our belief that it creates both Life and Death. We believe that when our mortal bodies die, we return to the Garden in the form of flowers, trees or even invisible spirits. I am a magess of the Order of the Phoenix, a servant of the elements and a person bound by oath to restore and protect life at all costs.

There is not much to say about either Vasilieu or Charanthreau. Vasilieu encompasses a wide range of mountains where our few mines are located. It is mainly our business and industry region. Charanthreau is a very rural area. It is where we grow crops and raise livestock.

Since I am the queen-to-be, however, my father decided that I should leave the kingdom and travel to the human world to learn much about the ways of life.
