| Rainy Days and an Earthquake Chapter 2 Food |
| He opened the door and was first surprised. Out in the hall stood a girl a few inches shorter than him with long blood red hair, a black trench coat covered with pearls of water and a matching black hat with studs in it. A pair of black boots peaked out underneath the coat. The girl lifted her head and shoed eyes as red as the hair with eye shadow and lipstick in the same color. "You ordered chicken typhoon?" she asked looking him in the eyes and not fazed at all. He was as intrigued by it as he was with the fashion-sense of this girl. No woman, he told himself as she shifted and the coat gapped showing a nicely shaped body in a red turtleneck and skin-tight black leather-pants. "Yes, it was I." he said looking her straightly in her eyes. Hoping hadn't noticed him checking her out. "Come in and I'll get the money." he said and opened the door wide. She stepped in after him without hesitation. " Can I put it down?" she asked. "Sure, put it on the table by the door." he answered without turning back. When she came into his view again he stopped dead in his tracks. She had taken of the hat and the trench coat. Something else that caught his eyes was the blood red nailpolisch on one hand, while the other had black. 'Color coordination at its best' he thought 'and my favorite colors too.' He chuckled soundlessly. He came back to her just as she slipped the coat back on. He saw that her hands where red, probably from being gloveless in this weather. "Here." he said quietly and handed her the money. She put on the hat and quickly counted the money. "Hey, I'm sorry, but this is way to much." she said to him with a little shocked expression on her face. "No, it's right. I just thought you should get some extra tip when you're out in the rain and came so quickly." he said softly looking into her yes and wonder how she can stand putting those contacts in by herself. He always needed help when he did it. "50 bucks is a bit much on the tip." she stated with an amused expression on her face. She was kinda amazing, as she seemed so relaxed. "Well, I don't thinks so." he said and leaned on the wall behind him. She gave him one last look. "Okay. It's your money or more exactly it's my money now." she said and pushed it down a pocket on the inside of the coat. "Bon appetite!" she said and turned and opened the door and that's when it happened. A big lightning was heard and the whole place went dark and then the ground started to move. Michael fell right down on his but and hit his head on the wall. It wasn't a hard hit as he saw the delivery-woman fall back inside the condo and the door slam shut. Everything continued to move for what seemed to be an eternity and Michael heard things fall in the condo and hoped the TV would stay put and not cause anything. The world suddenly stilled as if nothing had happened, but the lights didn't come back on. |
