He married 24. Hester Ann "Hetty" PRIMMER August 2, 1805 in Carter County, TN. 24. Hester Ann "Hetty" PRIMMER, born circa 1786-1787 in Wilkes County, NC; died after 1860 in Watauga County, NC. She was the first daughter of 33. John PRIMMER and 34. Mary unknown.

Joel DUGGER:
Family tradition claims that
Joel DUGGER was self-educated, well read and knowledgable in many fields. He prospected in the hills of Tennessee and western North Carolina, and discovered many ore deposits which were mined by various developers. Joel was crippled by an illness aquired during service in the "War of 1812" and was unable to do manual labor. He made a good living with intellectual pursuits such as teaching school. He was also a good mechanic, engineer, and cabinet maker.

          Notes for Willliam Lawson DUGGER:
          William was an alderman in the Chattanooga city government 
          at the start of the Civil War and during Reconstruction. He 
          held the post for many years up until the 1890's. He was a 
          Yankee sypathizer when the Confederate ship "Paint Rock" 
          was sunk (It was dredged up and refitted). It was operated 
          by William on many hazardous blockade running trips to Bridgeport, 
          Alabama to help bring in supplies.
