As time share owners, we traded in one week of our home condo for a week in Westgate Vacation Villas, pictured here. Westgate certainly knows how to build 'em! Our unit was a two bedroom, two bathroom monster with two double beds in one room, a king size bed in the master bedroom and a pull out king size sofa bed in the living room (I think I grew up in a smaller house!). Three TV's, three VCR's, a pool out the back door and Pizza Hut out the front. There's no way God could have planned heaven better!
Below
are pictures of the unit. We were so impressed with it, we thought we would
take and keep pictures of it. It was a great suite, well appointed with
everything a family of five would need for a comfortable, safe holiday. Security
at the gate, security on golf carts travelling the roads and sidewalks often.
Staff and guests all around at all times, making this place as safe as your own
neighbourhood!
The living room/dining room, with four year old Jennifer on the left. Out the patio doors
right in front of you is a screened porch with a patio table and four chairs.
Beyond that is large expanse of lawn and a large pool, with a kiddie pool,
hot tub and snack shack. A large (but very old) 26" TV is in the corner on the left.
The kitchen. On the counter on the left is a large supply of appliances (more
than we have at home!), including a coffemaker, toaster, electric juicer (we don't
have one), electric mixer (nope, none of that on our counter) and an electric
can opener (we still use the manual wrist busters). Jennifer is on the bottom
left and, if you look real close, you can see Krystal hiding from the camera
just below the counter to the right of the sink. The fridge had an automatic
ice maker (we don't have that EITHER!) and a stacked washer/dryer.
Wonderful!
The master bedroom. With a king size bed, large wall mirror, make up sink,
patio door access to the outside (to the right of the window, you can see it
in the reflection) and
a safe you program your combination into when you first open it, this room
has more things than our bedroom at home. It has a TV and VCR above a
dresser (just out of the picture on the right). That's Jennifer sitting on
the edge of the bed.
The bar. Yes, an actual bar. You can see the wine glasses hanging on the
lighted ceiling near the top right. A bar sink (the fourth sink in the unit)
is below the glasses. Extra drawers and cupboard space galore here! The picture
is taken from the living room and back towards the dining room, at an angle.
You can see the chairs of the dining room in the picture.
The view out our patio door, towards the pool. You can see the grass for the
kids to play on, along with the large pool, complete with patio tables and
umbrellas, chairs and loungers. Rich's Snack Shack is just off to the right.
Behind the Snack Shack is a shuffle board and one of MANY tennis courts.
Our extended family. Early our first day, our nine year old Krystal (that's her
knee) discovered ducks on the lawn outside our door. So she started feeding them.
And they never forgot her. Every morning there after, these guys (this is
just one, it grew to five ducks, one goose and a smattering of other birds)
would congregate in front of our patio door waiting for breakfast. This
particular one almost walked right into our porch.
The unit, from poolside. This is Krystal feeding the birds. The lone goose
can be seen here, although you can't make out the duck she's actually feeding.
There's a white seagull looking for scraps, but was too timid to get as close
as the other fowl. The window for the master bedroom is on the right.
The pool, from a different angle. Rich's Snack Shack is the two storey building
back right. Kiddie pool is near left and hot tub far left (both hard to make
out). Shuffle board would be behind the Shack, with the tennis court beyond
that. Our unit is off to the right of this view.
